Cardinal Burke himself isn’t all that popular but on this matter, he is absolutely correct! The idea of the death penalty is (clearly) not inherently evil, having been used as a punishment in the Old Testament and by the Church throughout it's years. The call to end it beginning with (to the best of my knowledge) St Pope John Paul II and now with Pope Francis' ban in the catechism only applies to modern day usage, and while it should be followed isn't the same magnitude of evil as politicans being okay with abortion or the gender stuff. Perhaps maybe politicans supporting the death penalty should be prohibited? I don't know. I just know with abortion, politicans are defiling Sacred Communion.
Death penalty is supported by the catholic church but only if done for the safety of the community (you can find a better explication in the catechism).
@@terricook2816 I mean the Church has the right to call for an end to actions it finds to be wrong, doesn't necessarily need to be in the Bible per se. What about politicians who support the death penalty?
There is no place in the bible that forbids the death penalty for murder. I fail to see on what justification the church forbids it.
@@terricook2816 I mean the Church has the right to call for an end to actions it finds to be wrong, doesn't necessarily need to be in the Bible per se. The basis is a call to mercy, an understanding that most countries have more humane methods, and the recent developments in finding out how even first world countries have used the death penalty prejudicially or on the wrongly convicted people.
That is different. The unborn babies have committed no crimes.
He is evil.
Remarkable that there is not A word about Trump and his moral values
Donald Trump doesn't present himself for Holy Communion in the Catholic Church. The topic matter here is whether or not Jesus Christ is truly and entirely present in the Eucharist, and if He is, then how do we foster devotion to our Lord in the Sacrament? And what discourages the recognition of the true Presence of our Lord in the Sacrament? Ergo, Donald Trump won't be mentioned in such a discussion. Get it?
@@kimfleury I actually don’t. Neither do you. If you attack ONE of the 2 candidates with all you got, who benefits ?
He should be excommunicated to try and save his soul and serve as an example to so many other people that claim to be Catholic but hold his beliefs
