The Foundational teaching this man does is PRICELESS. So glad to this channel active again. I never boxed before and just learned by watching his video. When I joined a gym they thought I've been boxing for a while. SOLID INFO HERE.

Same here. Just joined 2 weeks ago and they have me in with the people who've been boxing for over 6 months.
I can tell they plan on putting me in to spar their young up and coming fighters because that's who they have me paired up with everyday, doing the same drills, etc.
I'm 42 years old and self taught from CZcams. I should be getting laughed at

Im a decade into boxing and this is still my go to video for boxing stance.
I saw the whole seminar yesterday, but watching this again is awesome, as you get to spot some things you didn`t at the first time, this man is really a genius. He is more like teaching to box like a sniper, GREAT!!!!

My gym constantly told me to step in with every jab which meant I was throwing it whilst simultaneously trying to be defensively responsible. Meaning I was throwing a lazy jab more often than not. I saw these videos about 5 years ago and have improved my probing jab with the technique and am trading jabs far less. I also love how Marvin moonwalks instead of steps his shots! Thank you!

I firmly believe that from self defense perspective; having an accurate idea of the CONCEPT boxing, along with some practical drilling, even if by yourself (shadowboxing, bag work ect), can put you orders of magnitude ahead of most average people walking around.
I'd like to thank Marvin Cook for being one of the most influential figures in giving me a foundational knowledge of the concept of what the art of boxing truly is.

I teach my guys 3 ways ,.#1 the extension stance - basic stance with shoulder and chin tucked allows you to out reach the opponent. #2 the peekaboo- allows you to bob and weave and slip .. #3 the Philly shell- gives the jab arm rest , allows you to bend and roll away from punches
