Sent VIA USPS with insurance and they beat the living hell out of the box and PC....looks almost like a mini forklift went through the case. Missed all the innards but have to rebuild it anyway. A quote from UPS was $250+ to send it to the same place USPS sent it to for $80.
On another note - if you buy insurance for the PC never treat it as tho it's made of parts. Always claim you're the manufacturer and it is a complete unit. If you claim parts you can't roll in labor costs. If it's a unit they have no where to go to compare it and YOU become the reputable dealer that provides repair estimates.

thanks for the tutorial. I have a question about using the foam. I am building a Fractal design Ridge mini computer for my nephew that lives across country (Hawaii to Georgia). There isn't alot of room inside the tower. Will I need to use the foam to ship the tower, or because there really no room, it would be fine to ship it in the original case? The tower itself is roughly 37.4 cm x 11cm x 39.54 cm, and the case it comes in is not that much bigger. Will the second box about 50cm x 20 cm x 50 cm work?
Is it ok to keep the cables tued up inside the system?
& can exapandable foam be an alternative to instalack?

Nope. There is no substitute for the exact foam and box that comes with the case

No, but without a case box it is probably the best you can do. Use LOADS of bubble wrap and place it the box with the glass side facing the ceiling
