Westminster 10 Year Anniversary Show
Past members traveled from all over the country to jump back on the risers once more for this special anniversary celebration. The chorus rehearsed the whole show for a few hours the night before, and then threw it on stage. Moves that that had been etched into their memory 6 years earlier, came back, and it was just like old times - just like riding a bike.

If that doesn't light your fire, your wood's wet. Goosebumps all over my arms.
Now THAT... is barbershop choreography. No tumbling or complicated marching routines.
How does this not have a million views. This is freaking awesome.
I've tried singing with a few professional barbershop choruses, but I could never really get into it. I couldn't ever be one of these guys.
These guys are like 60 individual performers. Watch any single one of them when they're on camera, they're just lettin it ride as if they're singing their own versions of the song. And yet they are singing 100% in sync with each other.
"" with a few professional barbershop choruses" There are no professional barbershop choruses.
@@ajtheiler1557 keep it down or else all the barbershop chorus guys will come for a clap back.
@@kevjamvo Do not understand your words.
It's the way Westminster chorus introduces the piece and end it 😭👏👏
It's like a DCI drum corps or something. Amazing. Like the Blue Devils but it's a choir.
"a wall of sound" if you will....the consistency of the sound produced by this size group is absolutely impressive
The staging was actually done by a member in the drum corps if I recall correctly
Agreed! Love both activities so it's cool to see others
Back in the late 70's and through the 80's I sang with 3 different chorus (at the same time) and was assistant stage presence director with one and assistant director of another (just sang with the third) and I'll tell you..... this arrangement brought a tear to my eye (literally). Well sung, well choreographed and well executed. If I was to deduct a point, it would be for the director moving in and out of the front line so much. If the front line could have moved out to incorporate him into the choreography, that would have been something altogether different but to me it pulled very slightly from the chorus. great power and energy. Loved it.
Hey, that director has proven to be ONE with his chorus, showing true unity. It's a beautiful thing! ;)
This is Stu Ferris (marlene's husband) and I want to say I fell in LOVE with this close harmony and It still THRILLS ME!!!!
28 years in the BHS. Been to every Int'l since 1996. Every Harmony Foundation Show. Every AIC show. And quite a few MidWinters. The Westminster 10 Anniversary show was the best barbershop show I've ever been to, by a wide margin.
I was turned on to barbershop chorus by VM and it's hard to argue with what they have done for the genre. Yet when I try to explain to my friends why I play this type of music in my car, this is always the song I play for them and when I can, the video I show them. This is just magnificent. The art at its very best.
Come for the intro, stay for the end of the intro
Here from Tara Simon Studios reaction
Played this before(trumpet. Never heard it sung!!! Bravo!
Came here from George Colliers' video, and this performance does *not* disappoint! Incredible! 👏👏👏
I never get tired watching this and all their performances!
2:18 I love how much the glasses kid in the front is hamming it up
0:19 & 3:30 the transitions for a powerful finish are just perfect 😭💯
their harmony is just perfect
Insanely good!
Richard Strauss wants to inquire about using some of these chord sequences.
Credits to David Wright and the Ambassadors of Harmony. This was a pure join to learn and to perform.

south rampart street parade lyrics
'Do you hear the beat? Away down the street?
Do you hear the neat little rhythm of the happy dancin' feet?
Well now, look there!
The people are runnin' and right now, they're gonna have a lot of fun.
Make way, 'cause ev'rybody's comin' and you'll see a big parade.
Hey boy, you're really gonna celebrate,
Hear that? Listen to the clarinet,
Your feet are really gonna palpitate when you are marchin' around
Marchin' around, wonderful sound,
I hear the rattle-de-tat I love to hear the way the drummer does that.
Oh, what a glorious day,
Out o' my way!
Make room and gimme some air I got a lot of rhythm to spare!
We all swing high, swing low,
Ev'rybody rockin' to and fro
It ain't fast or slow, but oh, that glory halleluyah.
Swing that thing
Make the river bottom ring and sing
Hush ma mouth, that's the South Rampart Street Parade!
They're doin' it, soft shoein' it, they're tryin' it, untyin' it,
they're jivin' it, revivin' it, I tell you.
They're struttin' it, rug-cuttin' it, they're shakin' it and breakin' it,
Dad! Not bad! I'm glad! You dig! Hey, boy that:
Ev'ry boy's got a girl, the town's gonna whirl, tonight's a jamboree,
mister,
And if you come along you'll join in the song,
Hey, Dad, Not Bad! I'm glad! You dig!
Hey, boy that band is grand,
Ev'rybody in the land's on hand
They demand that brand of dandy handy dixieland.
The way they play makes a body want to stay all day
Hush ma mouth, it's the South Rampart Street Parade!
I hear the trombone, la-de-ah-de-ah,
That shiny trombone, la-de-ah-de-ah.
Ev'rybody playin' mighty fine as they march along,
And I never get enough of that Creole song!
Hear now, la-de-ah-de-ah
It's loud and clear now, la-de-ah-de-ah,
I really get a thrill, I know I always will, whenever I can hear the rhythm
of a band.
Way down yonder in the cane-break,
You can hear the music they make,
Ringin' out until the day break,
Louisiana band,
Gotta get a hand
The South Rampart Street Parade.
