Westminster Chorus sings an electric barbershop version of "Strike Up the Band" complete with thrilling choreography! You won't believe what these guys can do!
This chorus puts out a sound to rival a lot of chorus twice their size, but at the same time, their fewer numbers allow much more precision on the consonants. Amazing chorus and great song!
It's refreshing that this recording actually has at least minimally acceptable sound quality, putting it among the top large group recordings. Thanks for at least making an attempt to capture the sound decently! Enjoyed it!
Agree! These video people get their hand on more than one camera and feel some sort of bizarre obligation to make constant distracting cuts - inevitably at the worst possible moments - to make themselves feel important. A really good videographer would just back off and let it roll, but that takes a LOT of self control that most don't have.
Actually now that you spelled it out for me I do get it. "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world". But I saw it so long ago I don't remember the "four-chord choral sting" you are referring to.
When will they tell the camera operator/video director to just put the camera dead center and leave it alone! Just like in drum corp when the camera goes in you can't see the big picture! That sucks! GREAT CHORUS!
ComaLiteJ: Way to overgeneralize. Do you realize that MOST of KVU is over 40? I am 41. This is the kind of thing I have been WAITING for since I joined the society at the age of 14. (First generation. Joined of my own accord.) Thanks for making anyone who is not "you" irrelevant.
These guys were so damned clean, they sounded like a quartet instead of a chorus.
This was way ahead of its time.

I took a directing class with the director here, and it's neat to see him practicing what he preaches. He is brilliant, and has helped me a lot.
FANTASTIC!! LOVE THE SOUND AND LYRICS! Great Job, Chris !!!
My heart is singing .. the voices, the choreography! Oh this is just joyous!
Even in a chorus with many members, I can hear Sean Devine’s enunciation lol
I can hear his facial expressions when he's not on screen
............exceptional!!! All I can say is, "More...please.......!" ...and thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
I've never seen anything like that. Sure a marching band but not choir! AMAZING!!!
That transition from B7 to E7/9 is so clean and satisfying to listen to. 3:58
