    A joule thief is a minimalist self-oscillating voltage booster that is small, low-cost, and easy to build, typically used for driving small loads. This circuit is also known by other names such as blocking oscillator, joule ringer, vampire torch. It can use nearly all of the energy in a single-cell electric battery, even far below the voltage where other circuits consider the battery fully discharged (or "dead"); hence the name, which suggests the notion that the circuit is stealing energy or "joules" from the source - the term is a pun on "jewel thief".[citation needed] The circuit is a variant of the blocking oscillator that forms an unregulated voltage boost converter. The output voltage is increased at the expense of higher current draw on the input, but the integrated (average) current of the output is lowered and brightness of a luminescence decreased.

      DC output Upto 400V
      Depends on Input Voltage 4.2V = 230V 5V =300V+
      Out put ampre is 50ma or Less Then 50ma

    I also tried with bd139 (and many others). It's really better than mje13005 for this circuit, but we should keep the voltage under 80v. To avoid the constant augmentation of voltage, we need to add a zener diode to the charge (in // with the capacitor)

      13005 is for higher voltage,
      You can use any other npn transistors but voltage shouldn't be higher it can damage the transistor

      Just flip The D882 and you can use it as 13005
      But you will not get 220v
      Only 9v-20v d882 can give

      Сделал не работает. Взял другой транс роботает и на одном акуме 3.7в проработал13. 5.часа без включения.
