Welcome to "Shikwa - Heritage Home Stay" at Mehrabon Wali Haveli, nestled in the quaint village of Katha, Baghpat. Once the residence of the esteemed Qazis of the village, this haveli boasts a rich history dating back to the Mughal era.
For centuries, the Qazis of Katha dispensed justice from this very haveli, with records indicating their prominence well before the 13th century. During the Mughal period, the haveli remained a center of authority, hosting royal courts and becoming a favored hunting ground for Mughal kings.
After centuries of witnessing dynasties rise and fall, the haveli fell into disrepair until ex-UN Diplomat Mr. Sharik bin Raza and his journalist wife Alka embarked on a 13-year journey to restore it to its former glory. Fondly named "Shikwa" in memory of Mr. Raza's mother, who affectionately called him "mera shikwa," the haveli now stands as a testament to their dedication and love.
Certified under the GOLD Category by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, "Shikwa - Heritage Home Stay" offers a unique blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. Nestled on the banks of the Yamuna River, the haveli boasts stunning views of the surrounding fields and plains.
