I love that you have a friend whose name is Dorcas. So I thought I would share this....Dorcas, or Tabitha, in the Bible lived in the town of Joppa, a city on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Dorcas was also called Tabitha-Dorcas is a Greek name meaning “gazelle,” and Tabitha is the Aramaic rendering of the same name. Dorcas, or Tabitha, was a charitable person who made things, especially clothing, for the needy in Joppa. The story of Dorcas in Acts 9 is notable because Peter raised her back to life after she had died. Dorcas was known for her good works and acts of love for the poor (Acts 9:36); she was much loved in the community of Joppa. When she became ill and died, the believers who knew Dorcas heard that Peter was in the nearby town of Lydda, and they sent for him. The Bible does not specifically say that the disciples at Joppa were hoping for Peter to resurrect Dorcas, but they did call urgently for him (Acts 9:38). When Peter arrived at the home where Dorcas’ body had been laid out, he went up to see the body. There were many widows there, weeping. They all showed Peter “the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them”-tangible evidence of Dorcas’ loving service (Acts 9:39). What happened next is proof that our God is full of glorious, unrestrained power: “Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, ‘Tabitha, get up.’ She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive. This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord” (Acts 9:40-42).
Thanks for the Bible verse and encouragement. We aren’t saved by how good we can be, but it’s always right to strive hard to live pleasing to the Lord.

Praying things work out with your door. Ours took over a year, and not even due to COVID. We got a nice credit that we used on other stuff. I also hear lumber is really, really expensive right now. I do not know if you are having that experience. I love your videos and family. You help motivate me to push a bit harder, and you really show off your Proverbs 31 gifting in working well with your hands. That’s a blessing from the Lord. Also, my daughters and I want to stay in Berlin or Lancaster for a weekend on an Amish property. I’m so excited to do that and shop for our granddaughter due in October.

"Put on" to me means we need to be intentional on having mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, and being longsuffering. We are human and it does not come natural for us, therefore we need to make a conscious effort in exercising these attributes.

I completely understand the long suffering part. I actually find myself being productive, busy, & on task when I’m in a good mood, & it actually takes me being super upset/down to have a quiet word & to exercise my patience. I suppose that’s where I find the Lord speaking to me because I’ve finally slowed down. So of course I would like to be able to find patience in joy.

Love the flip house's front doors! 😍 The new project house is super cute and already looks good. Can't wait to see it with your touches added to it. All the houses where I live are all the very boring split level/raised ranches where as soon as you open door you are in front of 6 up/6 down stairs and garage door. Always a muddy mess at entry. I hope to see you all improve a similiar space so I can get some ideas on how to fix that space ;)
