    1) The Presentation, and Scott Tibb's ability to clearly convey - Right off the bat, (I am somewhat familiar with this keyboard thru other videos I've watched, and personally do "like", find it immediately evocative, and with great inspiration potential - to me) so, having entered that parenthetical, I really like Scott Tibb's demeanor, i.e. apparent personable presentation, "EQ" - as in Emotional Quotient ;-) and overall flowing, logical, progressive, and ... to my perception, very intelligent presentation. That means a lot to me, so that what is being presented is not only artful in keyboard 'noteworthy' skills, but also, in being able to communicate the implementational application ramifications, as interpreted through varied needful or desirable scenarios of mixing, processing, and blending, or 'merging' the varied components in overall synergy.
    2) The keyboard in general - As regards the keyboard itself, to my perception, it covers a great bandwidth of useful scope and context for most anyone's purpose (i.e. whether for personal joy and inspiration, small venues, or larger 'stage performance', composition, editing, recording, etc.)
    3) Side-bar comment, in 'these days' in particular (writing/closing this comment at 12:58 am on 09/05/2020) many, if not most of us can use 'healing input', ... i.e. soothing, or creative input, to sort of 'change the scene', or 'flip the channel', of our mind's input, and I suspect that such well thought out and diverse instruments as this serve to be very helpful, towards that end, ... 'all things being equal'. ;-)

    Im a Roland Fantom user and tried it all from the first Fantom Fa 76, fantom X, fantom G, FA 06 and 08.. also an integra 7 user. All i can say about this new fantom, its great if you use it integrated with computer/VST.. Also the new controls makes it better.. but i still need to try it in person before deciding getting it which is i always do before buying a new synth.. in terms of sounds, theres really nothing new on sounds coz the sounds ive heard on this demo can be produced by any other synths/modules if you are only giving time on how to edit your ADSR( Advance delay sustain and release).. Lastly im still interested with this new synth. The outputs and new computer connections are great to have. The touch screen is not amZing coz we know this is old technology, even the korg trinity from the 90s has that touch screen already. Thanks Roland. i dont know if does it have a smooth transition? Hope it does coz you are too late.

    Hi there. I'm an old timer with a Korg Triton Extreme that I got in 2003 used for performing and sequencing. I realized it is time for an upgrade so I purchased what I thought would be perfect for my needs, the Roland Fantom 8. I have had it for a couple days now and have watched your very informative tutorials. I agree this is an amazing keyboard, however, I must be missing something when it comes to realtime recording. I enjoy sequencing classical music scores like the orchestral accompaniments to piano concertos and then performing the solo piano part along with my sequenced arrangements (sort of like an instrumentalist's karaoke). The Fantom doesn't seem amenable to this activity due to the 32 measure limitation. Do you know of any workaround to this problem? What am I missing?

    • @fmagic2000able
      @fmagic2000able Před 4 lety +1

      Just my two cents worth: I believe what you are referring to is "linear" sequencing whereas the approach that Roland used here for this instrument is "pattern" based sequencing where the "patterns" of 32-measures can be strung together to make up a song. I think that if you want to do traditional linear recording would require you do that in your DAW to trigger the assigned instruments on the Fantom instead. Until Roland decides to provide this functionality, it would have to provide a another firmware update for this support which I don't see forthcoming anytime soon.

    Technically, Roland is a forerunner for the new advancements and all. For Example, in 2008 they introduced Mp3,WAV,AIIF,Kar and Midi file player in GW-8 arranger workstation.. but the competitors like YAMAHA and KORG implementing these after 10 years with a huge price only featured with WAV file player.. recently they started Mp3 Player too. Besides, Roland GW-8 came with a 1/4" jack by which we may play songs either from mobile or other output devices.. now only Yamaha nd Korg introduces thesame now as an added feature on a high price tag. So I am a Roland fan owning GW-8 (2 Nos). FA 06. Now I want to own this magnificient product. Roland has switched to my sleepless nights... because it also features new advanced technics too.. All the best...

      They already said there is no performances and patches on Fantom. Though I recognize some patches 10:00 ''JD-800 piano", "Blend Piano", "West Coast", "E. Grand". JD-800 piano sounds exactly as on my Juno-G without effects. So likely effects system on Fantom is a part of "scene" and only.

    How could Mr. Tibbs not notice and NOT TELL US that the sound remain doesn't work with the V-Piano? I really have to see that as voluntary obfuscation. Ed Diaz at least admits the problems. I think Roland is (like Korg) playing us for fools. They always omit what's not working with their machines until it's obvious to everybody. Then they tell us 'it's in the works'. Korg is worse, because they don't even try to do good communication.

      Not sure what you are talking about. The pianos have the Tone Remain too when you are in the scene mode.
