Just bought it !!! Great bike !!
Thank you Tor, well done!
just got one too, too match my Aprilia tuono, superb bike
Haven't heard anyone say anything really bad about the Capo. I love it will try one very soon. Music good.
You're the man Tor. Can't even consider buying until the suspension is proven reliable. MS1200 skyhooks are now crapping out. Really hoping Aprilia can actually get it right.
Sounds nice
How does this compare to the Multistrada?
So that is the footpegs dragging in the turns? Not the center stand? Seems like whatever it was dragged quite easily without riding very aggressively. Can you comment more on this Tor?
Thanks for the video!
That really is a very good looking bike... can't wait to try it :)
I would like to know which was suspension setting used in this video.
Too much scraping on a lot of curves. Or were u riding hard.
Nice bike but what's up with all the peg scraping?
Hi Tor, great review. How would you rate the Capo for long distance comfort?
Great! :)
Tor, Great vid again. I know from Australia's Motor Cycle News compare. This bike beat the Ducati Multistrada not only on price but also ride ability.
Thanks again Tor, more meat (riding impressions) in this one, and your enthusiasm for the Capo is evident. Makes me sad I'm in North America and have to wait most of a year to pick one up.
Hey, can you confirm the fuel tank is nylon? Bit of an issue here across the Atlantic with our misguided governments mandating high ethanol content petrol.
Great review Tor, I evy you a bit for your job! Don't get me wrong now your editing is good but I personally think that 10min would suffice for this video.
👍❤👍
ADD System in Australia if someone has ADD Attention Deficit Disorder. Given to kids who muck up in school and needs drugs to stop them from upsetting the classroom. They could have come up with a better acronym or say ANTI ADD system :-)
Interms of suspension..this Capo beat MTS for 2014 & below models(The engineer who developed this system now had moved to Ducati), its just lost to power...but who need such a big hp on touring bike. Get a sportsbike if u wanna be a speeddemon. Top speed was 263kmp(go check their group facebook).
i found the power to be perfect. I think they spent the time making the engine crisp and smooth.
so i farytale figure up in the sky , well thats another clue that this bke is not for me , its more like a Honda crosstourer , i know that Ktm 1190 is the best choise , not this one , a adventure bike is not a mixture between racing and touring , but more like touring and offroad , if it cant be used offroad it has failed .
A step up from multistrada? And the öhlins skyhook suspension? You must be on drugs! Please consider rehab, there is help out there if you weensy it!!
Skyhook suspension was developed by Sachs.
öhlins is a big step up from the Sachs units you usually find factory mounted in many bikes. My opinion still stands this bike is a cheapo strada knock off.
Peter Möller
I haven't ridden either bike, so I don't know which is better. One of the Multistrada models is equipped with the Sachs suspension, whereas the previous iteration was equipped with Ohlins. I think Tor is trying to convey that the fully active system on the Caponord is superior to the Sachs Skyhook on the Multi.
I just checked. The new strada S is without ohlins shocks and they opted for Sachs. A shame that on such an expensive bike they cut costs like this. The Öhlins are fully rebuildable when the oil and so forth needs change, but with the Sachs units just throw them and invest in new shocks. This is costly.
I've ridden both, they are essentially the same, but the capo is and feels like the cheaper brother.. Most notably the capo is down on power (about 20bhp) and up on weight (about 30kg).. This makes a big difference in feel.
I have a '13 MTS 1200 Touring. Just put 3000 miles on it including a week bombing the Rockies in NM and CO. It's a phenomenal bike, much better than I am. Crisp power, crisp handling.
While it's in for service this weekend the dealer gave me a '14 Caponord as a loaner. Yeah, great dealer (Eurosport in Ft Worth, check 'em out). My first impression was the seat was more comfortable and a better size for my 30' inseam. Second impression was it sounded great. Third was how incredibly much more torque it has a 2-3000 RPM.
Bet you think I'm gonna love on it, right? Nope. Suspension is a flabby mess. WAY too soft. It is comfy around town and feels very confident in moderate turns but I do not trust it at speed. If, that is, I could ever get to speed. At 70, where the MTS pulls like a she-daemon on crack, the Caponord just runs out of go. It has Grunt but not Power. I'm a big guy. YMMV
But this is all compared to the MTS. The Capo is a great bike. I would have bought it if there were no Multi. And it is a more reasonable price.
