  • Stuck ring X years due to weight gain, removal needed before surgery, failed string wraps at home, bit of a different case than the injured finger one, but shows the ring manipulation techniques in detail (corkscrew, rocker, counter-traction). This case also didn't need a metacarpal block, no injury so no pain. Hope you find it useful! Common theme: shrink the finger, then remove the ring. Many folks have a stuck ring due to weight gain over the years, not necessarily causing a problem, until the ring needs to be removed such as before a surgery. Here's my approach, using the Ring Rescue Compression Device and Techniques.

A good reason to take all rings off occassionally. So you know when it's time to start losing weight before it becomes a problem.

I just had this done. Took 3 hours for the doctor at the emergency hospital to remove it and my skin came off a bit. Hurts like hell don't know how come she was sooo calm. I was screaming.

I had mine cut off years ago and took them off every night after that.

I seem to be a very lucky person in that my fingers never swell so although my rings are tight, they stay on without any problems and I know I won't lose them. Ideal really, but I know it's not the same for many people.

How do people let it get this bad. Swollen finger that is so huge and painful why let it get that way and not let them take it off sooner

I recently bought a set of mother daughters rings for my mother's 75th birthday. Gold/silver and titanium with moissanite stones. I purposely bought 1 size bigger than the intended finger, so I could "play" with it. All day I was playing with it taking it off and on. I forgot to take it off before bed and I woke up to my hand not just my finger swollen. I ended up in the emergency department yesterday to have it removed! My hand was infected from the ring! Something else was on it that I must be allergic to. Because I have many rings over the years and some even "cheap turn your finger green " and never once did wearing gold/silver/stainless steal/titanium or plastic make my hand swell like that. Never thought that 1 overnight sleep would cause so much drama and pain from a beautiful ring.

Do they make these for latex condom O-rings?

I think this lady needed her rings off for surgery. But to me they don't look overly tight and the fact they came off without cutting suggests that. I think they looked good on her finger and it's such a pity they had to be removed.
