You can't see clearly in the video, but the spring gets hung up on the main gear. The only way i know to get it out, is to rotate the small gear on the starter motor shaft until its as far away from the spring as possible. After that, rotate the starter shaft to "screw" the spring past the gear. It helps to pull the starter housing off the rotor to give more room for tilting the rotor shaft. Hope that helps. The 2 bolts are the easy part.

I have a 1949 ford 9-n , I split the case, turned the Ring gear over, installed new clutch throw out bearing, pressure plate , put everything back together now tractor will not turn over, any ideas?
