OMFG, Tim played THAT Intro on Don't Dream It's Over. What a dude!
JustinGuitar Songs I had that same reaction. I’m tripping out, my friend just played that song yesterday haha. LEGEND!!!
I know right!!... the guys incredible. The way he speaks about his playing on his channel is very enlightening.
I'm constantly amazed at the talent that's making youtube video's these days. Kids just picking up the guitar today have it so much better than us old folk did!
Hey Justin I love you.
@JustinGuitar Songs - While I've always liked the Bon Jovi song 'Runaway', I found new love for it when I learned it was Tim playing that killer solo! Thanks to YT, a quiet legend like Tim can be seen and not just heard! :-) Love your channel, Justin. You're a gifted teacher and I've really enjoyed watching your recent collaboration with Lee Anderton. Good stuff!
Nice seeing you with Tim Pierce! Nice to meet you at the NAMM show as well!
Marty Music Please do a video together with Music is Win
MARTY! you son of a bitch :)
The GOAT 🙌🏼
This. This is why I am a Tim Pierce Masterclass student. If you want to learn, oh - you'll learn from Tim. Great show!
one of the finest jams ive ever heard
Tim's phrasing is just awe-inspiring. It just flows! Damn fine jamming and chatting, you guys are gold.
That free form improvising from 6:52 to around 7:25 is just incredible. So soulful. Tim Pierce is a really awesome all around player.
He asked where the tone comes from, tought he would say from the fingers but he started to talk about amp settings :D
I had no clue Tim did the solo on Iris! I love that song!
That jam is just unreal.. and I haven't even watched the rest of the video, great stuff
I did now, insane stuff. How does Tim get that insanely smooth yet clear tone?
What's cool is that wherever you watch Tim Pierce... you'll get Tim Pierce! I'm a big fan of the Tim and Pete show and Tim is always just as nice as Tim can be.. and damn he's good!!! That video got me excited as soon as I saw the title and I wasn't disappointed!! :) loved that!!
21:45 his string bash was so epic he almost fell out of his seat. I wish he was my dad. I love you Dad, I mean Tim.
That was the baddest assest kickassery of all time! I loved it!
Tim is a legend, the most useful three words anyone ever answered that question with hands down, "buy an electric", it took me a bloody year to learn house of the rising son on a bloody plank necked acoustic before I eventually found a better one, and about 5yrs beating the crap outa it before I got an electric, shoulda just went electric first, 30yrs at it next year and still learning thanks to you guys, so obviously being stubborn as a mule helps, ;)
This is what I love about CZcams. Been following and watching the things Tim does for a few years now, but would not have know about him otherwise. Yes, I know the music he has played on but I wouldn’t have put liner notes together and realized it was all him without videos like this putting it together. Great interview man, really love your channel.
I sub to Tim. He is an awesome man. That session with Mr. Mister was a gem.
Tim's runs are so tasty, just unreal playing. Thanks for posting : )
To be honest, Tim doesn’t give himself any credit for portraying his unbelievable musical history! When he tells his session stories he gets you involved with the history of when and whom his sessions occurred and where but there is never any bragging, it’s just his story!
Only wish it was longer Tim is the coolest guitar player
I love this dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've become such a Tim Pierce fanboy this past year since discovering his CZcams channel. As so many others say here, he is not only an awesome guitarist but such a nice guy. Every time I watch him I get a nugget to take away with me.
Gonna revisit my Tim Pierce settings on my line 6.
It's amazing how musicians can communicate with each other without even speaking.
Tim played the solo on "Runaway" by Bon Jovi before Ritchie ever joined the band. One of *_THE_* best solos ever recorded! Listen to it kids! 🤘
That lick exchange alone was worth the price of admission - WOW!
Great video thanks to both of you
Tim played on 'Don't Dream It's Over'? That song was a definite contributor to to me wanting to play guitar.
Tim's the best. Love that guy, and i've learned a lot from him.
Both great players
Tim is a shining example for any guitarists who write or record. Total genius.
Love these podcasts. I'm able to listen to at work. Thanks!
Great Podcast. One can never tire of content featuring the amazing Tim Pierce.
Awesome as usual
Tim is a great man and a great musician. I've been subscribed to his channel for a very long time. I'm assuming that's why this video appeared in my suggested list! Tim is everything you said and millions more!
Awesome, Tim is as you said one of the best unknown guitarists around. You aren’t bad either, Tyler.
You know, you are an amazing player, but that dude... Wow!
That was one hell of an enlightening interview. Cool as hell.
One of the all time great s
Beautiful music
Tim Pierce - Lord of the Picks.
Tim is the Man...the real deal .
The beginning is so satisfying
Tim's a smokin' player. You two sounded great together.
He did Don’t Dream it’s Over? Damn.
he did EVERYYYYYYYYYYTHINNNNGGGGGGGGGG when I found out some of the greatest recordings of the last 30 years was tim I just quit!
He didn't play the opening riff. Neil Finn of Crowded House did that. Most of what Tim played actually didn't make the cut, per his own words. He played the fills and solo.
Sweet jammin', well done. Lovely interview.
Tim and Tyler are both stellar examples of musicians who perpetuate a positive community narrative.
Better others, don’t necessarily focus on being better THAN others. Players who humble themselves cast a much larger shadow.
Music is fun, and it’s therapeutic. Have fun with it, don’t be a dick. Practice every day!
The Nobles is a fantastic overdrive. You got a gift worth keeping from da man
Tim is a monster guitarist. He is the behind the scenes guy that make the "stars" sound good. Hope he gets the exposure and credit he deserves.
Tim is truly a beast of a player. He's humble as well and continues to work on his playing always trying to get better and work on the areas he feels are deficient. I mean he took an alternate picking lesson from Steve Stine live on one of his videos. Always sports a smile that shows he loves simply playing as well as sharing his knowledge. If you have your doubts after maybe watching one or two videos, keep watching, it becomes apparent that he has all the chops and can truly compliment a composition regardless the genre. He has, in a very short time frame, catapulted to the top of my list of tasty players, worthy of a spot in like G3. No he is not a fretboard gymnast like Vai, doesn't have Yngwie speed or the genius of Govan, but I'd put him right there with anybody in the tasty lick category.
Awesome opening jam! Love Tim!
Playing with Sublime?
awesome
Tim is my hero! The Nobels ODR-1 is the bread and butter here in Nashville.
That was Bad Ass
Very good
OMG! This guy is amazing!
What a fkn jam.
he is a great session player
I like your interior decorating style... only a hard rock guitar player would paint the walls black... 😎
I only use one amp model on my line 6, and thats the Tim Pierce setting!!!
Tim is the man😎
Crowded House "Don't Dream It's Over"(!) Loved that unusual song from his opening chords.
Listener is the win! Jackpot!
Tim is amazing!
Wow. That initial run from Tim there is absolute filth. Nicely done to you as well Mr. Tyler. Great content dude. Very cool to see you grow. Keep on brotha. \m/ \m/
Tim for the win.
Groovy.
Just listened to goo goo dolls iris, what a killer song, Tim's playing is superb
This should have been longer dude!
Tim is the man! My sister dragged me to Rick Springfield concert in I want to say 1983 and Tim was the guitarist. I didn't know then but now it's funny. Jesse's Girl was the first riff I've ever learned. I would call my sister every year (who dragged me to that concert) and I'd leave the Jesse's Girl riff on her Voice Mail.
Awesome jams! I really enjoyed them.I think I'm not gonna hear them for the last time
Idk I started on acoustic and I was happy to do that, u hear it's harder to learn fingerstyle after learning electric lead rather than vice versa
I need a glass of milk after all those insane chops!
You should always have that pedal in the background of videos you record at your studio. And keep a picture of Tim next to it😂. That would be great! That’s like a fantasy of mine. To have someone like the amazing Tim Pierce give me a valued piece of inspiring gear like that. Please be sure to feature that pedal in future videos. Keep up the great work.
cool podcast... love that guitar Tim was playing and the playing by both was cool. Also, Tim's advice was killer and helpful in a world of technical wizards.
AWESOME!
you rock tyler
that Tim Pierce is a prince!
Lovely interview with a very kind guitar super pro.
Has Tim Pierce perfect pitch?
Dude thanks so much for this video!!!!
Tim's guitar channel is beast.. Check it out if you can
Tyler I love the billboard question keep asking it and three words or less!
Great jam at the begining.. you were really into it
he played on Crowded House!! wow. what hasnt he played on :)
Tim starts at 6:30
Tim worked for Lucifer! ..... Anyone who understands that is my new best friend.
The ODR1 pedal is hands down the best pedal. Enjoy.
It's been a while since I've watched one of your vids. For some reason I wasn't getting CZcams notifications from your channel.
Started watching your channel recently. Not that my opinion holds any weight, but I preferred your lead improvs to Tim's. Not many people could hold their own in a jam with Tim. Well done buddy.
10 minutes is an interview, not a podcast.
One of the best studio session guitarists... Can we get some tips about recording and how to improve this? It's hard laying down tracks for the intermediate player so this would be valuable advice.
That jam needs to be released by itself :)
Damn I've never seen a DG looking that good... All the shops near me seem to carry 594s exclusively now >.>
Anybody know what tuner Tim is using?
Out of all his catalog, its "Dont dream its over"....I love that song! haha HEY NOW HEEEY NOW!....................and Iris : /
Finally, how he approaches working with artists, producers and solos etc.
Need that DGT!
Next podcast you should do with Marty Music
Uhm... YES!
John Frusciante definitely should be next !!
What are the electronic attachments on the heads of their guitars people???
American Patriotic GBA tuners
M.I.W, your awesome brother, great taste.
Great video...what kind of tuner is Tim using?
