Found your channel through autism family. Connor is really good at the piano. I found their channel because I haven't seen mild autism depicted very well and can relate to Connor. I hope you see hope in the older Ian and Connor that things can improve. Your kids are awesome and I hope you know that kids in general develop hopefully the boys do start talking. Allister is funny and all 3 have a big heart.
Thank you. We have hope that our boys can start talking. We aren’t giving up on them.
It’s good that you give the kids a good set of healthy choices of foods to eat. When I was growing up and everyone was having dinner together we usually all had to eat the same thing. This even usually happened when relatives were visiting except in that case there would sometimes be a choice of chicken or ham (or a similar set of choices). When choices were limited it would make mealtime for me (and sometimes for my sister) more difficult than it needed to be.
It looks like Simon’s speech therapy (and other therapies) has helped him quite a bit. In this video he doesn’t really seem to be talking yet but in later videos he usually talks in complete sentences. I remember Alistair pointing out something about this last year in the video about a fishing trip.
It looks like Simon was overwhelmed with the change in routine at the beginning of this video with so many people arriving at once.
Things were similar for me when I was growing up. For example almost every time my parents had people over at my house when I was growing up the noise and the change in routine would be overwhelming for me. This was true when I was in preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, and even high school. Luckily my parents knew about me being on the spectrum and the other neurological conditions that I have so they didn’t really force me to interact with people in this situation more than I was able to handle. I was required to say hello to people (especially my closest relatives) but other than that I wasn’t really forced to do anything that I didn’t want to do (at least at home).
When we went to relatives houses (e.g. on Thanksgiving or Christmas) I didn’t have anywhere to go to get away from loud noise and decompress. This is when most of my meltdowns in front of relatives would typically happen. When this happened my relatives thought that I was just being spoiled because they weren’t told about my neurological conditions. They were just told that I was a bit shy and had some difficulty with changes. They were told about my sister’s autism but it was explained to them in a way that made it sound like an intellectual impairment even though her IQ is actually above average. My IQ is in the 120s (around 125) and hers is higher than this making her the most intelligent person in my immediate family.
In connection with this a tip that I have for people with kids on the spectrum is to be honest (at least with relatives) about a child’s diagnosis. It is up to the parents who else to tell and under what circumstances.
The plus side of all of this is that I developed an interest in computers that I hope to eventually turn into a successful IT career. I am currently studying Wi-Fi and other computer networking topics and I hope to take an intermediate-level computer networking exam by late Summer or early Fall at the latest and then apply for some computer networking work in my area. After getting some computer networking work I hope to eventually make the transition into network design in less than three years. Time will tell what happens with this but it might work out in the long run.
What a busy night! You guys are awesome!
We were busy that night. But we loved having them over!
I'm sure your friends so appreciated time together out! So nice of you both. All the kids are amazing. I love the photoshot! You guys nailed it!
Thank you,❤️
I also like honey mustard. Dijon mustard, horseradish sauce, and barbecue sauce are also pretty good.
you are very brave and all of you did a good job babysitting. little ones are growing so much.
Thank you! I know that the kids are growing so fast! It’s crazy.
I like your family and Autism Family so much, you guys are really kind!
Awe, thanks so much! 😊
@@7Aheadfamily i have 6 autistic boys and that night they had i wish i could have a night like that
You have 6 Autistic boys? Wow! ❤️ so glad you found our channel.
@@7Aheadfamily Huh? Sorry but I don't have any kid lol, I'm just 18 years old(19 in the next month)but I wish I have some kid in the future😁
oh, right. sorry. I was trying to reply to the green J, Junior Family Autism, who mentioned that they have 6 Autistic kids.
It looks like Alistair’s education is better than mine was at that age (back in the 1980s). In this video he’s seven years old and already understands about maps. I was in third grade before I understood maps and globes.
Your channel is the Best !!!! It makes me feel..... Normal/ completely understood.
I have watched a couple of your episodes and the "Mothers Day" episode. It made my heart so happy that I cried.
I am a mother of two autistic and nonverbal identical twin girls. They are 4 years old. We have another 15month old baby girl and another baby girl coming in June. I am so blessed to have found your family online. Thank you so much and stay awesome.
Thank you for being here!❤️❤️ We appreciate you!💜💜
Looked like a busy but fun night where everyone overall enjoyed themselves!
Yes! And get ready for round two of this video which we will be posting this Saturday!
You all did a great job!
Thank you! They are really good kids
Really impressed with other family’s children. Extremely well behaved.
So true, the Autism Family is awesome. 😊
It looks like Alistair might have gone downstairs because of sensitivity to noise. I have an idea of what that’s like. In situations like that I would go upstairs to my room to decompress and sometimes read a book. By age ten I had my first computer and I would sometimes play some games on it, practice touch typing, or write some BASIC, Logo, or Assembly code when I needed to relax/decompress.
It’s good that you let the kids play with bubble wrap. Chances are my parents wouldn’t have let me play with bubble wrap even at Alistair’s age because it might be a choking hazard.
They might have looked at it that way because my doctors didn’t really explain the difference between being on the spectrum and being “just a baby” or “just a toddler”. Hopefully these days (unlike in the 1970s and 1980s) these differences are properly explained to parents.
He was good with the little ones what a great kid Awesome story to❤
Thank you!
Maybe you can do a video about how to help kids who are on the spectrum to get along with each other when issues with this come up.
Even though I would not have initially expected it from watching the beginning of this video Alistair and Simon seem to be pretty good friends now. Based on that I would guess that you probably have some tips for viewers on this topic.
I forgot that Connor was already playing the piano this early.
one of the things that i have learn about autism is that sometimes its good to get to know a person with autism sometimes it could take a little time
very true
The piano was just beautiful
yes! I truly enjoyed that.
It looks like Simon has some auditory sensitivities. After a while the sound of everyone popping the bubble wrap at once started to bother him (hence the “dancing’ in that situation).
thank you Guys for awesome passivity
Thank you!
Please do more babysitting!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I know, we need to.
It's not so bad when kids are fooling around with the piano & they actually know how 2 play it!! My kids would bang the keys & play nonsense that can get quite annoying real fast!
We have been there as well. :-) Simon broke our last piano pounding on things too hard. :-(
Did not know Connor plays piano. I play piano too. Did Ian talk about cars? How is Ezra and cables?
Ian did talk about cars, and Ezra still doesn’t let go of his cords and cables very often. We try to help him have time without them, usually while he eats. And I was so surprised when I heard Connor!
I think it’s really cool u have autistic kids I am autistic and my twin brother is autistic too he is nonverbal we are so much different but we’re still twins with autism
Thank you so much for sharing. ❤️
Happy family
You are so kind
So cool.
thank you! ❤️
We more just like these please make more
Thank you! Glad you like it and we will make as many as we can. :)
Well done benson for sharing your lego
Thanks 😀
❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
@10.50min that piano needs to be tuned! lol
ha! YES, we actually just tuned it about a week after we shot this video. So I'm happy to say that it sounds a lot better now! LOL!
@@7Aheadfamily Who plays in your family? why not do a musical video? :)
Mark plays the piano. and Marie is learning as well. Thats a fun idea. The only thing with music, is we have to be so careful with copyright issues. We'll have to think of something though
Hello!
Hi!
Cholula is my favorite hot sauce too.
We buy it all the time now
I am curious what level of Autism that the autism family has ?
I know Simon has level 1 and Ezra has level 3. I am also a level 1 or High Functioning
That is a good question. I don’t know what levels they are.
I have watched them for a very long time and I know that Connor have level 1, Ian and Alistair have higher but dont know if they have 2 or 3.
That trampoline is a complete health hazard. Who has a trampoline without a safety net and a soft covering of the springs. Is this normal in the US? I'm in Germany and many many people have big trampolines like that in the garden, but I have never seen one like this without a covering and a net anywhere. It's just so dangerous.
You are right we should definitely get a net for that trampoline.❤️
Sounds like a nightmare for both the adults and the autistics as some autistics are unpredictable and most hate noise
I’m high functioning autistic
Cool. It was quite the adventure, but we all had a lot of fun.
We subscribed to your channel, it looks fun.
How do you go to sleep
😂 We don’t until much later and the kids are asleep. 😊
How did that go
It was fun! They are such good kids
7UP--->🥤
😀
7-11 :)
❤️❤️❤️
i know it’s so annoying what vivi said she said i like Actibg like w animal mystery
I'm sorry, we're having trouble understanding what you are trying to say.
Sorry but the one thing that bugs me is when people say i have an autistic child, or i have a special needs child... no!! u have a child with autisim or a child with special needs, the child is not their diagnoses they are a child first... only reason i say this is i have disabilities and if my parents referred to me as my disabilities before saying this is my daughter id be insulted, we are far more then just our diagnoses. I no you no that but i just thought id mention it incase you didnt think of that. Imagine if you had say depression and your husband introduced you to everyone as his depressed girlfriend.. may not bother some but to most of us with any type of disability we would rather not be constantly reffered to as our disabilities.
I used to think that way too, and I’m sure many people with Autism feel the same way. I watched a Ted talk with an Autistic adult speaking and his point of view was quite the opposite, explaining how he feels Autism is part of his identity and that he’s not ashamed of it. He even gave the example of, “you wouldn’t call someone who is Gay, he has Gay” I honestly don’t know what is better… Autistic child or child with Autism. But hearing that Ted talk made me realize that there are many adults out there who don’t see their autism as a disability at all but as an identity simply a different way of experiencing the world. I know many people don’t agree on this subject. And, you are correct that “child with Autism” is the correct term medically, so we often will say both terms on our channel. (I guess we make everyone upset that way) 🤷♀️ but thank you for sharing your opinion. It’s appreciated. And I can see your point of view. ❤️
Omg what is more genetic hereditary? Autism? Down syndrome or mental delay?
NO MORE PLEASE I HAVE ENOUGH WITH SELF DIAGNOSES VIDEOS PLEASE MAKE NORMAL ONES
None of these kids are self diagnosed.
@@7Aheadfamily oh I am not self diagnosed with anything i’m just sick of seeing Autistic videos ever ware i uslally get over stimulated when the same thing happens over
oh. ok. What kind of videos do you like?
@@7Aheadfamily I would like regular ones not these wired ones
Like what kind of regular?
