Love the Modelones solid gels! I've been eyeing the Modelones brush cleaner gel. My understanding is it's a gel base but without the photoinitiators, so it acts like base gel but won't cure (so no ruined brushes if you leave them near a lamp). If you ever get it, I'd love to see a review.

Those look really nice, and a nice sampling of colors as well. I have Pudding gels from madam glam. Would they be similar to that consistency wise?
yessss beautiful array of colors in these records, i love em! i have almost all of mg's puds, and as much as i enjoy em, i seem to reach for mo's solid creams instead. they are similar, but not the same (imo). i find that mo's formula self-levels a bit easier than mg's, so far less streaking. that's just been my experience. but i also prefer mo's application brush to mg's... and i think a fantastic brush can make a world of difference for application. hope that helps, lynn! thank you so much for tunin in! 🤗

(and i've tried a dozen different brands, at *least* lol) mo is *_crushin_* the game when it comes to marketing & packaging, but also still remains super affordable. it's crazy, idk how they do it! i love em so much. thank you for tunin in & stickin with me. and i'm so happy that my vid was at least a smidge educational. lol 🫶🏽

I used a label maker and put the names on the back. Don’t have as many as you but it makes it easier to see what it is!
Also, do you think a horizontal ombré is harder to do? Basecoat the tip before doing ombré or no basecoat?
i actually struggle more with vertical ombres than i do with horizontal ones. lol but i def use an ombre brush for my horizontals vs the flat or round application brush that i used for this vertical. if you're just practicin your ombre technique, i'd say skip the base coat. it's not like we hafta worry bout longevity, since nobody's wearin it. but on a hoomin bean, yes to base coat. 🤗 thanks so much for the label tip & thanks for watchin, babes! 🥰

How to prevent them from leaving a streaky layer? I am trying so hard to love my color cubes but they are giving me a hard time..
o noez! i'm sorry to hear that you're havin trouble with your cubes. 🥺 my theory has always been that i don't mind if the first coat is a bit streaky. but for coat number two, if you're still havin problems with streaks/brush strokes, try usin more product + less pressure with your brush on that second coat. angle the brush at about 45 degrees to the nail bed & "float" the gel, rather than pushing it down & dragging it (if that makes sense 😅). i hope that helps! keep practicing & don't give up on mo's solid gels. they really are amazing once ya get used to workin with em. thanks for watchin, babes! 💙🫶🏽
How do you remove it when you're ready to try another color?
remove what from where? remove the gel polish from the brush, or remove the cured gel from the nail? i demonstrated how to clean the brush in this vid. 💙

So why can't you just clean brush with alcohol and reload with base?
oh you absolute can clean a brush with alcohol, but i always run it through base before cappin & storin, and leave a lil clear gel in those bristles for next time. i'd never wanna let my brush(es) get dry & crusty from alcohol alone. 💙
