  • My old shower head does not work well. Because it is old, the ball head can not be removed. So, I decided to replace the whole arm. Becuase it is an old shower arm, it is hardly to move the arm at first. Then after using the WD40, it was easily removed. The I replaced with the new arm and new head. All looks great!

    What amazes me is that not one person showing how to replace the shower arm, Pro or otherwise, shows to caulk the escutcheon plate. Which is how I was taught many moons ago for all escutcheons in the shower tub area. Doing so not only seals things, but gives a much more finished look. I guess now a days everyone just skips that step.

    Absolutely wonderful help. I was trying to spin the ball to no avail. Watched this.. the prior owner put dry wall in front of hole.. took some off and saw the connector part. Without this video i would have not looked. Thank you and had a successful replacement.

    okay. You're not removing the shower head ball, you're removing the shower arm. Not what I was looking for.

    I'm about to do this tomorrow. One of the nuts is plastic for the non-ball part and of course it broke on me today.

    Thank you. Took me as long to change the arm as the length of the video. Also helped that I had the exact same shower arm too.

    Using Teflone on Water instalations shows how little you know obout instaling water pipes,
    Teflone is invented to prevent Gas leaks and its not werry good on water instalation.
    Rather use cheaper and much better oldschool natural string made of hampen, in touch with water it expands and seasls every possible leak hole.

    • @JamesTalvy
      @JamesTalvy Před 9 lety +8

      Ivan that may be your opinion to use hampen (which I honestly have never heard of) but your view on teflon is factually incorrect. Teflon tape is manufactured in two common grades. White used for water lines and Yellow used for gasoline, propane, natural gas and the like.

      +James Talvy If you go to a hardware store and tell them you are wanting to do any kind of installation to your shower...the one thing that they are going to tell you to buy is teflon tape. Also, some showerhead kits actually have teflon tape in the kit. So yeah I absolutely agree with you 100%. People can be so mean.

      It's recommend to use teflon to prevent water leakage when you thread two pipes together. Please do more research before putting in your suggestion.

      completely wrong, so why is it in the plumbing section near faucet and shower parts at Home Depot, Lowes, Rona, Home Hardware? you can use it for non thread things it's a thread sealing tape.
