  • Hey guys! I just got my new Omega nato strap in (ironically for my new Longines Hydroconquest) and thought you'd all like to see the unboxing!

    I bought the Cordura strap for my Speedmaster and they sent me the tool kit...just a nice presentation. Love it.

    They charge a lot but at least it seems more special. Also, that case they provide will be nice for travel or to hold more straps!

      I agree - it definitely elevates the experience of buying. And the case is great for all kinds of things. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

    You should fit the new spring bars. They are 1mm longer than those that come with your watch. It probably mentions this I the instructions.

    See the suede pad, can you wrap your bracelet watch around it, using it like a watch box pillow pad? And then place it inside the case, using the case like a single watch carry case?

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 3 lety +1

      gurtana In theory you could but the case that came with the strap is super shallow (depth/height), it’s only about 1/2” to 3/4” tall and rolling up the suede piece would probably make it too thick to zip up. It would be good for watches with leather straps where you can lay them flat though! The travel case I got when I bought my Seamaster which is more like a giant pill shape is much better suited to actually carrying watches. Hope this helps!

    Did you have to buy the case and the tools separately from the strap? Or was that just one single order for the strap that included everything? I have been told by the local authorized dealer that the strap and the tools are sold separately, $160 for the strap and $50 for the case and the tools. Thank you.

      Raman Thakur Hi! Nope, everything came as you see it for $160. But there is, as I’m sure you know, a HUGE difference between ADs and buying directly from Omega. ADs make almost all their profit on the “extras” like swag, kit, and service. If you can buy direct from Omega, either in-store or online, then you absolutely should.

      @@joshswatches Hi Josh, Thank you so much for a quick response. I have researched and watched other videos as well and wasn't convinced that I will have to pay extra for the tool kit. The challenge is that I reside in Canada and Omega doesn't accept online orders. I guess I will have to visit an Omega boutique. Thanks again for the confirmation :)

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 4 lety

      Oh no! I didn’t know that! Call your nearest boutique and have them order what you want before you go - the two that I visit most frequently usually only have the most popular accessories in stock and a limited quantity at that.

      @@joshswatches Thank you for your advise Josh :). I was able to get in touch with the Omega Boutique and they are going to send me both strap and a toolkit with the red case for $160 USD.

    how did you go about getting this? I can't seem to buy it on the site? It tells me to go an omega dealer...

      @joshswatches  Před 4 lety

      Hi there! I bought mine online, not really sure why it’s telling you to visit an Omega boutique - my guess would be that it’s out of stock in the online warehouse but maybe a store might be able to find it? I’m not sure if Omega boutiques are open but you might try calling/texting your SA if you have one to see. Best of luck!!

      I went to an OB and they just handed me the strap in the plastic sleeve. I was confused, and asked about the additional packaging or curved spring bars. Nope, just handed me an envelope with receipt.

    Oh I love that hydroconquest, will be waiting for your review. Btw do you still have your Tissot chrono? If yes, is it holding up well?.
    Btw omega packaging are amazing

      @joshswatches  Před 4 lety

      Enrique S B Hello!! I’m assuming you mean my heritage chrono, and yes I do! It’s holding up just fine, though because of the hesalite crystal it does of course collect more and more patina as I wear it, but that’s fine by me as I think it makes it look more authentic. Mechanically it’s perfect, though! Much like the Hydroconquest probably will, it really gets worn during the summer, though. Hope this is what you were asking about! Cheers!!

    One has to wonder how much less they would charge for the strap without all the unnecessary accoutrements?

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 2 lety

      It’s the same price in store without all that (and minus what it would cost them to ship it to you) so I think that’s your answer. It’s a purchase you make with your heart not your brain.
