    I love my Durango, we have a 2014 with the 8 speed and 3.6L v6 and we regularly get 22mpg in mixed driving. But highway I usually average 24-25mpg. Also from Central PA to the outer banks I was able to drive 600+ miles on a single tank without stopping at all for gas. That trip we averaged 26.2mpg with the kiddos and luggage for vacation. Bought it with 42k miles and now we are rolling over 100k miles without a single issue at all, knock on wood!

      That's great, mid 20's for fuel economy in a vehicle for hauling people and cargo is pretty decent...combined with moving a box on wheels LOL. The Durango to me is a great way to go up from the Grand Cherokee which just lacks that 3rd row that many people really need.

      My '11 with the 3.6 and the basic 5 speed transmission gets 24-25 on the highway. I have noticed that even a small amount of wind really effects those numbers though. There could have easily been a crosswind that day dropping those numbers.

    I recently hit a deer with my vehicle and was given a 2019 Durango GT as my rental for a week. The V6 was very responsive and sufficient to get around the rolling hills and mountains of Pennsylvania. The Durango is a sharp looking vehicle, and it was fun to drive. The biggest complaint I had was the heated seat and steering wheel controls being in the audio unit; it was very distracting to adjust while driving.

    It's your fault you weren't getting 25mpg. The EPA only tests up to 65mph(104kph). Wind resistance increases with the square of speed Wich means if you are going 10% faster you are experiencing 100% more drag 65mph(104kph)*1.1= 71.5mph(115kph). It's just a little speed but it makes a huge difference in fuel economy.

      Your numbers are off.10%increased speed is a little over 20% more drag. also in Canada we don't drive the posted speed limits. those are more of a suggestion on the highways. Most people do 10-20 over and that's just the slow lane. You go into the right lane and people are usually going 30-40 over. You drive 104 on the highway here and you are going to get run off the road, since most primary highways are 110KPH. cops wont pullyou over unless you are going 20 over the posted. (unless you are near a small town that covers that portion of highway. they will ticket you for doing 1 over) They are testing real world driving over what the manufactures do to get their numbers. Manufacturers get their numbers on a closed stretch of road with perfect conditions.

    Life in Canada. If you haven’t got a vehicle and trailer stuck in the snow are you even really a Canadian? When I bought my 2011 F150 the day I got to pick it up we got a huge dump of snow in Calgary. Was the end of March so it was a really wet and heavy snow and we got like a foot or more. I got my old truck stuck in the ally. (2W drive long box extended cab 1999 f250) so I just left it there grabbed the new truck and me and my neighbor took turns trying to pull out the super duty out. Was a good test between an f150 with the 5L and a Toyota Tundra TRD pro. The ford won by the way lol. Granted I had brand new AT tires and his were about half worn MT’s. Was fun though.

      @@wildbill23c My Jeep is a 14 trail rated Laredo E with almost 60K I bought it used at 36k It had been a lease vehicle that had been in an accident and repaired by Chrysler. I have been really happy with it thus far. It has good power, no problem towing. The only two complaints I have are definitely design flaws.
      The first is the return to center electronic shift lever. Sure I have gotten used to it and it's not a problem now but it almost got me in trouble many times early on.
      The second is the full factory skid plates, Their is a cutout behind the drivers front tire that catches all the gravel kicked up by that tire and it gets packed around the transmission and transfer case causing a horrible grinding noise and shaking of the vehicle, It usually takes a trip or two to the car wash laying under it cleaning it out. The worst part is it happens every time I take it on a gravel road.
      Other than those two issues I have not had any problems with it.

    @TheCondoInRedondo Před 3 lety

    Fun review. Much enjoyed. But your comments about gas mileage are unfair due to the speed you drove.
    120 KPH is nearly 75 MPH which is well above the EPA's speed when testing. The Durango presents a large cross-section into the wind. Wind resistance increases as the square of the velocity. That means wind resistance at 75 MPH is 33% higher than at 65 MPH. So MPG goes down quickly as your speed increases.
    I have the R/T model with the 5.7 Hemi. When doing legit MPG tests (using adaptive cruise control) I can obtain 23.5-24.0 MPG at 65 MPH and can get better than 27 MPG at a steady 60 MPH on flat highway with ECO activated. Of course, hilly freeways (Pennsy Tpk, Merritt Parkway) MPG worsens because you never recover (on the way downhill) what gas you use going uphill. But on flat highways, Durango can have respectable fuel economy if you drive it at 105 KPH.
