As a native Mandarin speaker, I am so impressed the person on the other side of the line could understand the sounds Howard was making. I know I reheard the "Fat Indian friend" part many times and could not understand what he was saying.

That Mandarin is so bad lol. And I don't even really speak Mandarin. Literally not a single word was pronounced correctly.
It was pretty good and understandable except for the pronunciation of rice (饭) and the pacing of the last few words 不高兴

I speak mandarin and Howard’s Chinese is not “so bad” it’s downright illegible, I can sorta make out what he’s saying but like it’s really nasal somehow. Some would say this is bad but it makes me love these scenes even more.

Ever heard about the little county called The Netherlands? That is where they speak Dutch, but they are also Dutch people who speak Dutch so it doesn't really stick with your other examples, but instead you could have used Swiss or Austrian people who both speak German
