    Nice review. Glad to see you didn't go easy just because you got one sent to you. Have worked with both Veo and Pixellot AI cameras with various clubs and they don't come near having a cameraman operating a camera on the sideline. One of the AI cameras once got confused and followed a bald linesman's head instead of the ball one time.
    Delays in processing are a huge hindrance.
    My advice, get your camcorder and tripod and shot from the sideline. Everyone will be much more happy!

      @@bsoundsreal There are two very small holes, one next to each lens, those are the microphones. So there is audio but I'm not sure what the quality is like. And yes the prices are in Australian dollars. I didn't think they were to be honest, otherwise I would have said so in the video. But I just double-checked before replying to you and It's only at the final checkout that it finally says so. I used my VPN to see the US prices and the physical products are cheaper but they still charge pretty much the same amounts for the subscriptions and add ons. So the subscription fees with a full package are close to $2K in USD as well.

    My son's football team has to use one of these cameras to record their games as part of their grades rules. I would say the camera being 4k is similar to the ones you see on ebay that claim to be 4k, but you cannot zoom in much at all before the quality is no good. I still live stream their games from a camera on the sideline and can then go back and edit, crop, zoom etc far more than you can get from the Veo. It is also a little laggy on following the play and is very limited on how far it will zoom in on play. I hope you eventually get the footage and can show us what you were able to get from it. I have only seen it from the viewing end, I have not been into the editing software

    Here in Puerto Rico’s pro basketball league most of the teams are using AI cameras (synergy sports) to livestream the games and it has become a great tool for the lower budget teams because every game of the league is transmitted through youtube. I don’t the money side, I’m just a photographer for one of the teams 😂, but the AI cameras have a lot of work to be done because the teams that have their own broadcasting teams put out a much better product for their fans than just simply the AI camera, and even some teams do it without audio.
    But yes, this is only the beginning, the AI will take over the world, sadly.

    My club has been using three Veo’s for 2 years successfully filming hundreds of games with players and coaches loving every minute. It’s expensive because it’s amazing technology. And for a club it’s not that expensive. The best thing is the ability to download goal highlights to make highlights video in seconds.

  • @chrissfixes
    @chrissfixes Před rokem +1

    Nice review, you identified 2 of 3 deal breakers for this camera (subscription costs and lack of direct access to the footage).
    The footage itself is borderline unusable. The camera lacks a quality optical zoom and the game is always zoomed way out. It’s possible to use for coaches film, that’s about it. For spectating it’s hard to see and follow the action, so live streaming is meh. I’ve had clients send me hours of Veo footage to use in highlight reels and couldn’t use a single clip. Also nighttime footage is awful and grainy.
    NFHS AI cams used in US high school stadiums are pretty much the same, with the same limitations.
    I think these AI cams are far off from being replacements to human sports videographers. What bugs me most is the BS marketing by the companies that makes it appear to the average coach or parent that they are going to get amazing game film when it simply isn’t true. Or that they’ll save money by not paying a sports videographer but actually charge more in subscription fees.

  • @coach_yo
    @coach_yo Před rokem

    Our club uses Veo. We have several. It has considerably helped in recruiting and game film to our players who would otherwise never have access to quality game film. Is it the best? I feel it’s subjective because their features are good but with all AI it takes time to work the bugs out. I’ve had a game sit in the cloud for weeks and had to get their IT involved but once they did all was right in the world.
    I usually download my films locally on a hard drive to save incase my players need them later on. It also allows me to post it online. It helps with clips, and individual player moments for them to download easily. However it’s time consuming to cut up individual player clips on their user platform. I usually spend a good amount of time.
    They aren’t alone, now they’re TRACE which players wear sensors and each player is assigned one and the AI cuts clips automatically but at a considerable cost, however reduces the amount of time a coach needs to spend cutting clips for olayers, there’s REEPlayer which is new and in beta which offers similar, a few others that I seen now that use smartphones on gimble with special app and AI.
    Great for player development and clips for recruiting in my opinion, but unless you’re at a club that can afford it, it’s a hefty cost for individual owners.
    Depending on your medium, for player development it’s great, for keepsake it’s great, for media posting you can’t beat a good field camera and lenses. I’m still using my mobile rig and an iPhone 12 😂😂

    I’ve been skimming through your CZcams channel and have enjoyed your content and I'm hoping you can help me out. I'm looking to buy a camera that can record my soccer games, but I don't have anyone to manually move the camera, so I need something that can capture the full field from a stationary position.
    I was hoping you might have some recommendations for a camera that's budget-friendly and costs around $500 or less. Ideally, it should also be easy to use and have good quality video.
    I'd really appreciate any advice you could give me on this. Thanks so much for your time and keep up the awesome content on your channel!

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  Před rokem

      If you don’t want to manually handle the camera, you are either going to have an extremely wide shot that covers the entire field with the players looking very small and far away, or you can go with an AI camera like the one in this video. Either way you won’t get great video quality for less than $500. Sorry to say but your expectations are way too high. You can’t get great results without doing the work. Especially on a small budget. Maybe try to find a young videographer in your area that is just looking for experience and would be happy to film you for a very small fee. That would be a better investment than a $500 camera kit.

      @BeyondTheGame_E  Před rokem

      @@kevinhernandez3971 Hey Kevin, if you're not too concerned with quality, yes a GoPro can do the trick but you'll need to put it quite high on a tripod if you want to be able to see yourself even when there are players between the camera and yourself, which will happen a lot in a soccer game. This will also help to see your positioning properly because, if the camera is too low, you won't be able to see the depth and distances properly. And by the way you'll get the same quality, if not better, from a decent smartphone camera.

    The AI Camera definitely has a long way to go in regards to quality, it says it's 4k, but it definitely doesn't look 4k from the small footage that was shown. Being billed a yearly subscription of 99$ per month is too much not going to lie so that already would stop a lot of people from purchasing, as well as all the added add ons. I personally have started to hate all the subscription type based programs. But you will most likely be spending around 1,200+ or around the same cost of the camera which doesn't really make much sense. The cost overall is too much.

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  Před rokem

      I agree. But I don't think that videographers like us are really their target audience. They are more so going after sport clubs and teams who basically subscribe to that instead of hiring a full-time video person. Which from that perspective is much cheaper but also not as good.
