  • Many Christians have been taught the so-called "Great Commission" in churches throughout the country. However, few are familiar with the details of this commission. Fewer still are familiar with the greater commission given to us by Paul, Jesus' apostle to the Gentiles. Learn what the Great Commission really is and how it is not to you in this lesson, "The Unknown Great Commission."

    Isn't remission and forgiveness, or redemption different?

      Jesus has freed us from the old covenant through his blood. Now our faith in him is what forgives us from sin, or redeems from it We have all of that ,remission and forgiveness, and redeemption is all through faith in Christ. Sometimes they don't explain it. They play a little hopscotch at times. Jesus told us we need to believe on him to be in the kingdom His blood is what redeems us, but believing on what justifies. No worry though we are ok through him.

      I think Israel had remission of sins because their salvation was yet future, and they had to endure to the end.
      We are given forgiveness of our sins and our salvation is secure.

      @@George-ie1si there are Jews now getting saved through faith in Christ, beside it the inward not the outward Jew that according to Paul that is saved. We are of Abraham if we believe in Christ. Read luke 22 it is the new covenant in his blood that saves, not just because you are a Jew by nature.

      I'm not quite with you Shelly, the Covenants are to do with Israel and we have the gospel of grace which is not of Israel as it was a hidden mystery given by revelation to the apostle Paul so that all men could be saved, Jew and Gentile, and become part of the Body of Christ.
      Our blessing from Abraham is that like him we believe God for righteousness but we don't believe the same thing.
      We are not spiritual Israel, we are not born again, we are a new man, a new creation baptised into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit upon us believing the gospel of our salvation, that is that Christ died was buried and resurrected for our sins.

      @@George-ie1si ok what it is a covenant is just thing to do like in friendship between two people. The first one was conditional , they had to do certain things to keep from being of under the curse of it.
      The new covenant wasn't conditional like in the first. The curse was removed and we are to love one another as he has loved, have faith in him and what we fall short in he doesn't hold it against because he is as he said he is merciful to our unrighteousness.
      We though need to do the best we can, even in our weaknesses.

    Sometimes we like to split hair to understand what Jesus is saying. Jesus told them that the kingdom does not come come with observation but it is within you. He lives in our hearts in other words, he has put all the enemies under his feet.

      @mosesebati7582 Před 3 lety +2

      He told the unbelieving Pharisee that the kingdom of God is within them (Luke 17:20-22)..Was the Lord meaning that the kingdom is within their unbelieving and uncovered hearts? Or was He meaning something else?

    • @shellyblanchard5788
      @shellyblanchard5788 Před 2 lety +1

      @@mosesebati7582 You see at the time Jesus hadn't died yet and he was telling them about the kingdom and how it comes about. Not with observation. He told them not to say hey there it is or hey there it is.
      They were the rulers at the time of where you were supposed to worship. The new covenant didn't come till after the cross, not before.
      They were still doing the Mosaic law. The thing about it is some of the disciples told different parts and the other another of what one left out.

      Well, one can listen to you and throw away their Bible and pretend the kingdom of heaven is here, doesn’t sound like the this heaven on earth is too nice….if that’s all it is, we are doomed. Nope. The kingdom is yet future and earthly, Jesus will reign physically in Jerusalem.
