the yellow spinning light does not only mean you got a message! it also means you got a notification!
and the pulsing/spinning green light means you are having an incoming call or you are making a call!
Flashing light is so annoying

Extra features:
Dark Blue spinning light: Alexa is in discovery mode or pairing another gadget like echo wall clock or buttons
Rainbow light: Admin mode
White light and spinning light: Volume is adjusted and Alexa is in guard mode
Purple light blinking: Error during wifi set up

The white light means you are pressing the volume button up or down and the white light also means you are in guard mode

Okay, I have the XC56PY model echo. I get to the orange spinning light, then white light and then nothing. Can anyone tell me what is happening and how I can resolve it please?
Putting this on full volume makes my echo which is the same room saying “sorry I didn’t find a device named ............”

Here displayed is only the 2nd gen. Dot. We really like it's Alexa voice much better, it's not that deep like on the 3rd gen. Dot!

I was just having a light that keeps blinking thanks to your video I didn’t know I had a notification it just keeps blinking and it was yellow light and no it’s not it helped a lot
mine worked for about 10 mins after set up now has stopped working at all tried all the tips still no joy dead as a dodo.

poor connection traveling/connecting to wifi. The 3 am video is probably a glitch in the alexa software, sometimes it disables the wifi by its self or they just removed the connection data to show the red light. I’m not apparently sure but just might be an error or a way to dodge the question.
Sorry for the long text but I’m surely that when the lights turn red, It mostly means a connection error or you muted it.
What is the white light for? It won’t go off and I never set it up for anything. Help?

The no Wi-Fi/not responding Alexa makes a pulsing/flashing red light.
Also meaning it is having trouble understanding you.
The purple light also means there was an error during the Wi-Fi setup.
It does not happen with the purple light.
