  • On Sun 24/06/18 Southern Shorthaul Rail ran their first grain train on the Mildura line which had recently been converted from broad, to standard gauge.
After traversing he Ararat - Marybrough section overnight, GM22-GM27-GM10-B61-442s5 on train no. 7983 empty to Birchip is seen in the first view as it climbs into Dunolly. Loco's were being hauled to conserve fuel on the trek.
The next view shows them as they roll along between St Arnaud & Sutherland.
The next view shows them as they round a curve approaching Morton Plains.
Later in the day after loading at Birchip, return train no 7984 is seen as it approaches Morton Plains, now with GM10 in the lead after a loco reshuffle at the balloon loop at Birchip.
The next views shows them as they pass through Litchfield, and then Donald, and finally as they leave St Arnaud.
