theres so much more linking them aswell:
-if you look at gurranq’s arm, he has maliketh’s death rune crystal thing
-there is a black blade kindred outside of gurranq’s bestial sanctum. the black blades, who themselves have attacks that have a destined-death like damage over time effect, are said to serve maliketh in the item descriptions for their weapons
-besides the black blade kindred, the small doll enemies outside of the bestial sanctum also have the black and red destined death-like effect on their weapons
-the bridge outside of the bestial sanctum is called the farum greatbridge. this is an obvious reference to the bridge in farum azula that leads to maliketh
-gurranq’s name means “death of the demigods”, which makes sense since all the demigods fear maliketh and his destined death was used by the black knives to kill a demigod (godwyn)
there are other connections between gurranq and maliketh but it’s pretty much confirmed they’re the same person

That's what they want you to think

    • @KosmataBradva
      @KosmataBradva Před 2 lety +1

There is a theory that Marika figured out the Greater Will's idea to dominate the Lands Between. So she cast away Godfrey and the Tarnished to survive in the harsh lands without gods and become strong. Tasked the Black Knifes to help Ranni. Broke the Elden Ring. And entrusted Melina to burn the Erdtree, then the Tarnished eventually return to try and fix the Elden Ring and enter a conflict with the Greater Will. Most of this is sourced by speaking to Melina at different Churches.
It is also a completely dumb idea, as Ranni is the character that conjures the big plan to remake the world order. Having another character with the same plan, but even more overkill is stupid. Also sacrificing Godwyn, her firstborn, so Ranni's can kill herself and do her Age of Stars plan? There is a level of foresight Marika can have, before the story falls into complete idiocy.
It makes way more sense for Marika to be a benevolent ruler, that removed the Rune of Death, so none of her subjects would die (opposed to doing it only to benifit the gods). And when a mysterious subject kills her firstborn son, shatter the Elden Ring in rage/grief to punish her subjects, who seem to reject her benevolent rule. This fits with Roderika's final words, and the truth that Gideon saw.
It also makes the Greater Will a better villain, since he can outmanuever Marika's rage, by having Radagon constantly repair the Elden Ring. And gives a reasonable explanation to why he would fuse them together at start. Essentually rulling the Lands Between via the constant stalemate, instead of Marika's original perfect world (very much similar to the different versions of the Matrix). While in the 2000 iq Marika theory, Greater Will is just an arrogant mong who stands there and waits for her plan to succeed, which it does.
This is probably left intentionally for personal interpretation, but until we learn all there is to know about Melina/Gloom-Eye Queen, we can't say for sure what is the true scenario. The war with the Gloom-Eyed Queen will reveal what was Marika's real opinion on death and why Melina is tasked with burning the Erdtree...
... Not like if Marika wants to break the Ring to fuck over the world, she wouldn't send her daughter to kill the parasite tree.

His spell descriptions mention that the first ever use of incantations were the use of rocks, something he's the origin of as he has the only rock based spells.
So he's not bound to Marika by anything other than willing oath, and he's not bound to the Greater Will. Marika betrayed the Greater Will, yet Maliketh did not go mad and put her down.
So it's actually more tragic than you thought. Marika did betray him, but she betrayed him by abusing his undying loyalty. She had him guard the Rune of Death, and he swore he would. Then she turned on the Greater Will, and she knew Maliketh would not harm her because of his oath and because she's his half sister
She basically betrayed everything he stood for and relied on him being too pure to retaliate over it directly, which he was.

@@TheStraightestWhitest well the rememberance of the black blade states that he was a shadow bound beast given to Marika as she was an empyrean. Idk who else would give a beast like that, and the use of the term shadowbound sounds s lot like the same type of relationship Blaidd has with Ranni. You're right about stones being the weapons of beasts who had gained intelligence as the description of the bestial sling clearly states so, so Maliketh does possibly predate the erdtree, and the bestial constitution states how beasts must have felt their wildness slip away as civilization took hold.
So this all probably means that Maliketh is OLD and I mean REALLY FUCKING OLD to predate the erdtree and probably be among the first beasts to gain intelligence, so unless maliketh just uses ancient incantations of beasts, you're probably right actually. He probably entered the greater wills service by the time he was fully grown and was then gifted to Marika

So, in doing this, she betrayed her God and at the same time failed in saving her son - Godywn still dies in soul and becomes the Prince of Death. Her story is one of tragedy.

Destined Death only became known as that after Marika took it away from the Elden Ring, I think. Presumably because she wanted to be the one in charge of who death reaches. She wanted a monopoly on death, pretty much. Therefore, only she can deliver true Death in Elden Ring. I think when the Rune of Death (Destined death) was taken away, the concept of Death itself left the Lands Between. From that point on, all life and death was bound to the Erdtree. That's why when you kill bosses you get remembrances. It's almost as if they are not really dead, but their power and life force sealed away, or in other words, returned to the Erdtree.

The confusion and betrayal in his voice when he recognizes you in the sanctum hits hard, even on my current NG+7 run 😔 From Software has to stop giving all their wolf/dog related characters such tragic stories ☹️

So yeah I'm hearing conflicting things for godwyns assassination. Legit don't get it, what use would merika have to kill godwyn and why would she do that with ranni

Marika had nothing to do with killing Godwyn. Godwyn was her son. Ranni 100% orchestrated the kill on Godwyn by stealing the rune of death from Maliketh.

My idea is that serosh is maliketh.
Marika was the gloam eyed queen when she was younger. The Godkiller sword says that Maliketh defeated the GEQ.
My guess is that marika once as the GEQ had children that did not match her expectations, and so she got them killed by the Godskinapostels.
Maybee the bodys in the mausoleums? Maybee the GEQ was long bevore them.
So i think that it could be possible that marika back then as the gloam eyed queen, or shortly after she was the GEQ, connected with hora loux, mainly in order to get serosh defeted, wich she could not have done her self.
so i guess that maliketh became marikas shadow when the G-guy got send back to where he came from. To team up with maliketh in order to eleminate death out of the equation of her own existenz, could be the only reason the G-guy was banished in the first place.
Serosh could have been allready only a shadow of his undefeted self when he became marikas shadow.
Also he may have forced the GEQ into marriage after defeating her...
But i also asking my self if the rune of death has been taken out of the equation to make the people need a diffrent way of passing away.
In a RL-Theory i figured that it would become very old very fast to live longer, not to speak forever. Even if you could travel to other stars, or galaxies, how long would id thake bevore discovering something realy extraordinary, or even spectacular, would become boring af?
So at some point everybody realy wants do not go on with living, i strongly suspect.
It could be that she was immortal anyway allready and as a numen very long living so or so iirc.
So the emelination of death could be done only to afflict others in some way.
Also the lands where the G-guy (hora loux) comes from seem to be under the same rules as the land between, or the konzept of death does seemingly not existed there. Time could also work diffrent there.
However serosh could have became maliketh when he took up the rune of death.
That the emperians have shadows in the first place could result in serosh becomming the shadow of marika.
So the shadows would be the offspring of serosh/maliketh, that is added to the offspring of marika.
But there could be another instance there, maybe a father of marika, whom ("who"? i guess that it´s obvious that english is not my native, sry) may have adopted serosh, what would make him related to marika.
I know nothing about the DLC so far, but i would not be suprised if a parent of marika would be a part of it´s story... or hints in this direction at least.
I also think that Marika and serosh/maliketh had children together. The guys running arround in farum azula.
I suspect marika to have had offspring with a lot of... a lot. The Lands between may have been mostly empty of humanlike life when marika has arrived.
But this is very speculative and idk if it matches to anything else revealed so far.
What confuses me the most is that marika at some point seems to have taken testosterone and other hormones, most likely in order to get some sort of muscle-milf, and developed a penis, or something like that, idk...
This woman was not doing well at any time if you ask me.

So Ranni stole a piece of the rune of death? Because he still has it in his hand, is that just part of it?
