- Leaving France we cross the border to explore the south-west tip of Switzerland. With clear sunny skies, we cycle between the Alps and Juna Mountains to Lake Geneva. Overwhelmed with all the ritz and glam of Geneva we push on, cycle along the velo-way that hugs the shoreline of Lake Geneva to Lausanne. We enjoy a day of sightseeing in this historic town, sampling some the diverse cuisines, exploring gothic cathedrals, wandering down cobblestone streets and of course indulging in as much Swiss chocolate as our budget allows!
Join us on another backpacking adventure through this unique part of the world, a CYCLING PARADISE where the skies are endless, the mountains are spectacular and the locals are just all too generous.

Your cycling tour is very nicely
Wow wonderful 🥰❤️
Thank you for sharing your journey! It was a blast to watch, can't imagine how amazing it would be to actually there!
I love my country Switzerland (Bern) beutifull places 🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭😘😘
wow so beautiful
Love the explanation for the Rivella 😜
I'm loving this. My wife is Swiss-French, but not much of a cyclist. She got me really excited about seeing Switzerland. I always wanted to do some touring around Europe. This vid is lighting a fire under me to start planning a tour.
+pimpb0tt that is awesome! We are happy to inspire you to visit Switzerland and the surrounding area. Check out our website for some detailed blog posts. Www.twowanderyonder.com
For all reading, they speak either French or Swiss-German in Switzerland. There is no 'Swiss' language per se... well, except Swiss-German, which is like a dialect of German.
+pimpb0tt Switzerland has four official languages. But add great English to that for 5. They speak better English than the French. That’s for sure.
owesome view
How many kilometers was the trip? And what was the cost of the hostels along the way? If you had a month to cycle the there is there a circle route that you would recommend? This video has piqued my I interest to cycle there!
Prices are kinda high on food though. Only major issue.
You can buy Rivella in Holland too 😏
Chey Wiersma oh good to know! Thankyou
Great, could you tell me please what kind of GPS you use or do u follow street marks?
I am planning to do it
We used the maps.me iPhone app. It’s really good as you can download the map and use it in flight mode if you want. It was really good at making routes that avoided highways and main roads. Sometimes it took us to dirt roads and farm tracks, but they were the best time for us!
Two Wander Yonder Thank you so much for giving me those information 😊
What kind of MTB wheel size do you have?
We ride 29inch bikes
i want to go swiz
I noticed you use mountain bikes. Would you use a road bike with a little bit larger tires or would it not work? Love what you are doing, keep it up!
+Rich Morrey Thanks Rich, yeah we use mtb because we like to get off road as much as possible, . However we didn’t get the chance in Switzerland due to our time and route choice. Yes a road bike with bigger tyres (cx tyres if they fit) would work.
You can also use skinny road bike tires on 29er mountain bike rims, if the tires are wide enough. I wouldn't go smaller than a 30c on a 19mm inside rim width... a typical XC rim size. I use 38c comfort bike tires on my dirt touring bike for every day bike commuting to work, and about half the time I go for a tour when I don't expect to encounter much dirt.
+pimpb0tt absolutely. We run xc tyres. Normally 2.1-2.2. They roll fine but also give some grip in the dirt. When on the road we pump to 50psi and drop too 25psi for the dirt.
I think a 29’er is a good choice really great rolling along and as you say for going off-road a do it all,CX bikes or adventure type bikes are ok but they won’t really handle mountains or really XC type riding well right? 🙂👍🏻
For those reading, you can often fit 700c rims with road bike tires in a 26er mountain bike, as long as you run disc brakes. Obviously, the rims won't line up properly for rim brakes.
fun to see, how cyclists from other countries explore my home. :D
Sorry, Lausanne is not Luzern, is a big different ;)
Lausanne: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lausanne
Luzern: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucerne
We're not quite sure what you mean. We never went to Lucerne or talk about it in the video. Maybe we pronounced Lausanne wrong?
OK, sorry - I understand Lausanne wrong you spell like Luzern (what I hear with my ears)
