EJ- all these years later he still has it. No autotuning- just belts it out. His music is the backdrop to my generation. What a gift to have had him all these years. Thank you Sir Elton for all of your gifts.

It's so frustrating to me that Elton is the only one left out of him, George, and Freddie, I miss the other two so much and miss their performances together. But damn am I so proud of him for keeping on and singing this song in particular. Gaga did a great job. I can't say she did it as much justice as George did imo but she did a great job nonetheless.

Going almost unnoticed is the impeccable job the boys in the band did on those quite difficult harmonies/background vocals. Possibly as good as-- if not, even better than the original '74 recording.
This was a fantastic performance. I was in the front, right in front of Elton and his piano. A glorious performance.....

In 1970 I got married and we moved to Connecticut. I was 20 and my husband was 21 and in the Navy. And we got tickets to go to New Haven to Yale and watch this new singer that had just come over from England who had a new album. It was his first album release. And it was Elton John. It was the madman across the water album. I had never heard any of it. It was my very first concert. And when he sang the actual madman across the water song I was hooked forever. All the rest was great but I have never forgotten that concert... guess it's true you never forget your first time. In a lot of things in life. I guess we can all agree with that. This is great.

His initials are "dw". His name must be "Drum Workshop." It is on his right Kick Drum . As for "Nigel Olsson", which is on his left Kick Drum.....I assume Nigel is his Mentor.
