Yes, the music is phenomenal, but what really makes this performance special is that they are both so full of joy and the chemistry is amazing. She's playing on a digital piano while he's on an acoustic one. Since digital pianos don't require room to resonate as they produce sound, well, digitally, there's no reason for it to be larger. An acoustic piano requires room to generate a louder sound when the chords vibrate, hence the long tail. Surely, he might as well have played on an upright, as it's definitely wired and even a smaller instrument could have its sound technologically enhanced, but I really don't think it's a matter of respect as much as preference. We usually see Gaga using digital pianos, whereas Elton seems to enjoy acoustic ones more...

Donna (shout out to Richie Havens) I was familiar with Gaga from the beginning, but I want to share a story: about 5 or 6 years ago, the super bowl was on but my cable went out, so I walked to the local bar filled with very old senior citizens. Obviously, they had no idea who she was, but after hearing her slay the star spangled banner, they all applauded (which Gaga lives for) for me personally, my favorite CZcams video of her is: Ellen live Lady Gaga "Judas", singing live while dancing is very hard. This performance is beyond epic! It's like a battle between those two as they riff together throughout the song! And I love how they changed some of the chords to make it sound less pop like and more like a concert piano performance. Those faces are the faces of someone who is enjoying performing and is really into the music and the staging is simply reminiscent of how piano performances used to be, it's not messy... not every stage performance has to be a spectacular feat of technology and structure

Are we ready to have the discussion that ARTPOP was Gaga at the height of her artistic creativity and innovation?? She put her soul into this album, and had it stamped out by the general public and came back more watered down and afraid. Nothing she’s put out has been as real as ARTPOP. Chromatica has been a step back into that space, but I really hope she is seeing the love for ARTPOP now and getting back to that creative freedom. This was raw and powerful and anyone that can’t see that is lying to themselves. 💜

Lady Gaga named herself after a Queen song and Freddie Mercury was a good friend of Eltons. Must be interesting for Elton to see an amazing talent that his friends existence helped create. In some ways Gaga was probably influenced by both Freddie and Elton making her a slight creation of theirs.
Her song "You and I" uses Queen's beat for "We Will Rock You," but it's slowed down quite a bit. Then she's got a song called "The Queen." And Queen has a song called "You and I" and "Radio Gaga." So many Queen references in her career, and I'm sure I'm missing some others.

Donna (shout out to Richie Havens) I was familiar with Gaga from the beginning, but I want to share a story: about 5 or 6 years ago, the super bowl was on but my cable went out, so I walked to the local bar filled with very old senior citizens. Obviously, they had no idea who she was, but after hearing her slay the star spangled banner, they all applauded (which Gaga lives for) for me personally, my favorite CZcams video of her is: Ellen live Lady Gaga "Judas", singing live while dancing is very hard. Her vocals are so good, she never needed the schtick
@@kevinwalsh4652 Yes, she doesn't NEED the schtick, but the schtick is fun, is it not ? It adds to her performance. She's giving us all she's got, not just the music. More bang for our buck.
@@clarkeonenil3252 I agree, I was raised in Rhode Island and predominantly Italian, I'm Irish, but all my friends and girlfriends were Italian (Gwen Stefani=Irish & Italian=perfect woman) yes, she is an entertainer, but once you get noticed, you don't need to expend energy to continue to be noticed, I'll give you an example: I was inspired years ago to take serious vocal training by one person, type into CZcams: James Durbin cover "roads apart", he also had the schtick, but as far as pure vocals go, no big male star vocalist can sing better than him.👍🔥🔥🔥

This performance is beyond epic! It's like a battle between those two as they riff together throughout the song! And I love how they changed some of the chords to make it sound less pop like and more like a concert piano performance. Those faces are the faces of someone who is enjoying performing and is really into the music and the staging is simply reminiscent of how piano performances used to be, it's not messy... not every stage performance has to be a spectacular feat of technology and structure

Are we ready to have the discussion that ARTPOP was Gaga at the height of her artistic creativity and innovation?? She put her soul into this album, and had it stamped out by the general public and came back more watered down and afraid. Nothing she’s put out has been as real as ARTPOP. Chromatica has been a step back into that space, but I really hope she is seeing the love for ARTPOP now and getting back to that creative freedom. This was raw and powerful and anyone that can’t see that is lying to themselves. 💜

Lady Gaga named herself after a Queen song and Freddie Mercury was a good friend of Eltons. Must be interesting for Elton to see an amazing talent that his friends existence helped create. In some ways Gaga was probably influenced by both Freddie and Elton making her a slight creation of theirs.
Name Gaga has had David Bowie’s peace sign tattoo on her wrist since before she was famous!
Her song "You and I" uses Queen's beat for "We Will Rock You," but it's slowed down quite a bit. Then she's got a song called "The Queen." And Queen has a song called "You and I" and "Radio Gaga." So many Queen references in her career, and I'm sure I'm missing some others.

Theatrical to the nth degree. From a 'not classic song' (Elton John) through jazz (Tony Bennett) and film music (Sound of Music - 2015 Oscar highlight), Lady Gaga does it all in her own super-stylish way. Some impressive lady.
