Great video Jay. I love FabFilter plugins. They have such a smooth. transparent sound quality about them. The C2 is a beast of a plugin. I also love the Q3 when you can solo sweep to low cut. Keep up the great work.
Great video, brother. Could you help me with one thing? At 5:35 you decide that you should place ANOTHER limiter on top and reduce this control "Output level" Why did you simply not do it on the other limiter? And what exactly is this output level control? Why not just reduce gain?
Hi hope you are doing great. Which plugins are those to be specific? It could be that you have 64bit versions of the plugins and therefore wont show in Cubase 5 being a 32bit Daw.
This is to just ensure that the base remains mono. If we cut it off from the sides then it will just remain in the center (Mid). We don't need low frequency information in the sides otherwise it would make the mix sound unstable. Bass is a mono instrument.. so we have to contain it and make sure that it stays that way..
1:49 question, if you targeted around 2k based on key of the song (which in this video is C#), why the side chain on is D#? does it need to aim one step up of the key for that one?

However, the boost at 10Khz in the sides only is to just give the song some stereo feel in the top end there’s is no reason why I boosted at D# it just happened that 10Khz was at D# the target was boosting everything above 10Khz in the sides. Tell me please should you master the finished AUDIO file or to master in the project? Does it have difference? I mean can this happen that when you master the finsihed AUDIO file then some instruments corrections might be needed like changing the volumes of some separate tracks? Or is it absolutely fine to master the finished AUDIO file like you do?
Hi hope you are doing great. You can master the finished wav file or directly in the project if your CPU can handle that there's absolutely no problem. For some projects I master directly in the project for others I export. The reason I used to export and then master was because back then my computer would start glitching due to lots of plugins from my mix as well as my master. However , the downside I found with that method is that after mastering lets say you notice an error or something too loud then you have to open the mix correct it and then export and take it to the master project again which is so time consuming. But if you master directly you can just adjust things right there in the project. Another reason why some people like to export and then master is because they just like to see the whole mixdown waveform so that it gives them an idea of which areas might be loud or low.
