Louis when I lived in Cyprus there was this hidden spot in the mountains that was really secluded that had rope swings and all sorts of things into a waterfall and like plunge pool area. Only the locals knew about it, check it out I’m sure you could find it online.

Hey Louis - I just wanted to let you know that by their own laws when they take your driver's license you have to go down to the police station immediately to be told you're fine and pay it. If they don't want to do that, then they're wanting a bribe. If you insist on following them down to the police station, most the time they'll let you go because what they really want is a bribe and they know they're doing something wrong. Like you said - they were being nice and taking selfies with you and maybe you didn't want the hassle just in case they really did end up making you go and pay the fine. Maybe it all worked out. But for future, you can insist on going to the police station and most the time it's a bluff on their part and they let you go with a warning. By the way you're next "vehicle" conversion should be a train and you can go across countries in the train!!! And you can take my twin boys since I gave you the suggestion - you'll have a blast! 😊🚂🚃

Honestly I think at this point it feels like it’s not a complete adventure unless Louis loses his passport somewhere, gets pulled over for speeding and the police officers asking him for a bribe to get out of it or something like that lol
they shouldn’t have pulled you over, to be honest speed isn’t really regulated here in DR. You can obviously notice the other cars going quite fast. Amet (the Dominican transport authorities) are so tedious to do deal with. Def not my favorites. I feel like they’re always looking for a bribe, in this case they won.
