Paracetamol will help Rya (sorry if i butchered the spelling of her name) to stop feeling the symptoms of her fever as badly but it's only a painkiller so it won't help to get rid of the fever itself. Make sure she drinks lots of water so she doesn't get dehydrated and make sure she rests as much as possible whilst getting some fresh air at some point to clear her head a bit. I'm not a doctor but i know from personal experience that these things will help the fever go away as quickly as possible, but the main thing to do with a fever is to wait it out, and maybe get medical advice from a doctor if her temperature rises above 40 degrees C or if she experiences severe headaches, a tight feeling in the chest, or shortness of breath, in which case the doctor might prescribe her a certain drug

@funforlouis from an icu standpoint, it is flu season and travel during this season is brutal for bug spreading. 39.6 fever is significantly high. she may have caught a viral bug. she may need to sweat it out & keep hydrated with water & electrolytes. if fever doesn't break or condition worsens, seek medical care. may need a dose of antibiotics. hoping it is just her body reacting to rapid changes to temperature if she came from somewhere warm just prior.

I love these skiing vlogs. makes me miss the slopes. If Raya's still feeling sick with a fever this high try to make sure to keep cold towels on her pulse points to relieve a bit of the heat and change them every two hours. it makes fevers like this more bearable to sleep off. also i would refrain from stuff like paracetamol it only represses symptoms for a while not the fever itself. get better soon raya :)
You are not that far from Lausanne ☺️ sorry for the bad weather at least up there it is snowing and not raining like down here. Just be careful of snow slides, with all the ice under this huge layer of fresh snow. Best stay on the slopes, I guess.

Fever is like a protective mechanism the body uses to kill of the infection. See if she feels better the next day. If not its better to go see a doctor, especially if she's having some other symptoms as well. 39.6 degrees is quite high.

Oh wow, that's quite a high fever. You can wrap her calves in towels soaked in water and vinegar, it helps to cool down the body. Or she could soak her socks in it, that works as well. Hope she gets well soon!

A sustained high fever can cause permanent damage if it continues for too long. In the old days, they would literally put people into an ice bath to break the fever and lower body temperature. Hope Rya (?) is doing better by now :-)

Louis is not lucky with the weather: storm Eleanor just hit western Europe and the weather forecast for the next days is not super great. Also it is still "school holidays" this week, that's why the slopes are crowded.
And btw there's a flu epidemic in France currently with record number of people being sick.
That being said, I hope Louis that you'll still manage to have fun in the Alps with your friends.
