- "Take Care of Your Fingers: A Story About Knives" is a documentary that tells the story of artisan kitchen knife makers in the heart of Barcelona, Spain.
Florentine Kitchen Knives was founded in the Florentin neigborhood of Tel Aviv, Israel in 2012 and they opened their first retail space in mid-2018, in the Barcelona.
Founder Tomer Botner and wife Noam Blumenthal's are originally from Isreal, and their knives are used in some of the best restaurants in the world, including Disfrutar restaurant in Barcelona and The Jane Antwerp in Antwerp, Belgium, which are both featured in the film.
Tomer and Noam discuss the start of the business, their love for their Barcelona neighborhood of Raval, Tomer's unexpected rise to success fueled by early social media traction during Instagram's first year of existence, and the value of "handmade" and teaching future generations these skills.

I wish I had a craft like this. It must be so satisfying to make something with your hands that will be cherished for decades and to be so uncompromising in your work.

Ok, this guy has a strange understanding of ergonomics. Not sure I fully absorbed what he was trying to get at. ...A knife has to be comfortable to hold and use for fairly long periods of time. ...The knives look cool!
Buenos cuchillos lo malo: pesan
Instead of ikea knives you don’t sharpen use his knives you don’t sharpen
Why are 70% of the pictures completely unrelated to making knives?
Tom Rauhe I think you’re a bit confused :) I don’t make the knives. I made a documentary about the knife maker haha.
@@SamZucker I get that. But you are showing pictures of kitchens and Barcelona scenery. But I realise that documentaries are more about pictures than content. Depends on the viewership and audience, of course. But there's quite a bit to show about the process of knife making in 8min before taking the time to show Barcelona.
Tom Rauhe Tom Rauhe the video is about the story behind the business. The inspirations, the origins, the brand, and philosophy behind bringing modernity to an old craft. If you want a video about how to make knives, or 8 minute straight of people hammer steel, I’m sure you can find plenty of those online as well :)
