Finally someone that thinks and builds like me Rat Rod?????? was a HOT ROD,we built back when out of what we had. Shiny car guys detest us, but without us the word Hot Rod would not exist.And way way back when,they were called rats,you figure out why,I know because I did it.
Just so you know, I sent you a message over on Facebook, seeing if you'd be interested in joining a regional group for us automotive CZcamsrs (hoping to facilitate collaboration opportunities) in our region...I want to fight him on the Gates thing...haha.
Mon it takes having tools first then get you a car/truck that runs but needs work and go from there you can make anything look cool if you have an imagination. Take a automotive class at your local college, body and fender, welding.
Work at body shop but nothing custom just all cars now and days change parts fix littel dents so use filler .no meatal work which why wanted work there but suprise new cars are all half plastic .I'm looking into class metal work clads old cars and new cars just so different new cars compered to old ones .but will get it man just see these videos and going figure it out want be able bulid bad rat rod or some fenders for my harly....
@@javierramirez-kr2yt that is true they just replace parts, I took a welding class years ago at are local college took a course it had tools to cut metal rollers and all kinds of different tools it was like an art welding sculpture class I met a few people that class that already had fabrication back ground. The money it cost to take the class was worth it because all the diffrent welding methods and tools I got to use to learn how to work the metal when I was a younger. Then went to work as a welder fabacater for 14 year's. Over the years I collected my own tools. Bought them as I needed them. I helped friends and family with there car's truck's wagon' s body work. My father and older brother used to buy older Toyota's 1967-71. Fix them up and sale them. I was 19 years old my father brought home a 1968 Toyota Corona 4 door for a parts car. I decided I would bring that car back to life my father and I rebuilt the 4 cylinder I had to buy 2 front fenders and bumpers for it. Lucky at the time those cars were still in junk yards. I cut a 51 Buick grill with BMW bumber guards I mounted the bumber guards all 4 on the front bumber. Comb swap meets for Apple tons spot light's put white wall tires on the stock wheels I painted the wheels red with the stock hub caps but put the three prong knock offs on the caps drilled holes in the caps. My brother in law tented the back window's with light tent. The little car was painted antique yellow. It was my everyday driver I took it to mini truck seen car shows and wone a prize it was a head Turner on the road especially when you see the front end coming down the road with the grill and bumber looked like big teeth coming down the road I was trying to get that 50's car look on a 1968 Toyota Corona look at a 51 Buick grill then look up a 1968 Toyota Corona with 1 1/2 white wall tires make any car look good that was my first mild custom I did when I was 19 years old.
