    Great tip. Wtf is descript doing. This is such a simple thing to make easy. They make it hard to do this!

      Hard to say! Hopefully, they're working on improving this soon.

    "There is no zoom out" Imagine if descript did make it easy..
    Imagine if descript had a simple track mouse tool.
    Amazes me that they dont.
    Lucky this guy shows you how to improvise. 👍

      Thanks. Yeah, quite a few things could be added to Descript to up their game in the screen recording world.

    Perfect timing @Graphicious! I only just looked for videos on how to zoom in with control in Descript 19 hours after you posted this video 😄 Very helpful video!

    I agree that I cannot fathom why they don't have a "Zoom out" or "Restore" action on the same menu as the "Zoom in" that would reverse the changes. Seems like such an obvious feature

    So, first off thanks, I really needed this today, I figured it out, but this still helped. This feels really clunky still, and the diamonds need to be way more distinguishable, it went from media thumbnails to almost invisible shapes.
    Second, I don't like this at all, besides not having a zoom out, my biggest gripe is the canvas. In Canva you can zoom out to see the media elements borders even though your project resolution is much smaller, here you have to slide it and grab a corner, and to be completely honest it's really making me mad to have to do that every time.
    I have asked for custom easing/speed curves. You might have media that requires different points that aren't already there.
    *Sigh* not the end of the world, but pretty frustrating.

      I agree with you. Animation right now is Descript's weakest point. And I don't see it improving any time soon.

    Thank you!! i'm trying to find the new ZOOM AND PAN in the new layout v. 91.0.1

      Sorry, it appears it has been removed for some reason. I can only find the custom animation now I don’t know the reason but I’m hoping it doesn’t stay that way and they bring it back, plus the other animations we needed such as zooming back out.

    I hope they work on their screen recording tools. There are other apps that handle that really well, but I don't want to further complicate my workflow. QUESTION: Are you using a cursor replacement feature or do you just make your cursor large in your Mac's settings?

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I don't use a cursor replacement since I don't record my tutorials in Descript. Everything I record that needs screen recording is done in Camtasia - recording, editing, etc. Camtasia has a cursor replacement, scaling, editing feature that's pretty good. The quality of the screen recording is far superior to Descript's for now.

    Is camtasia better than descript?

    • @Graphicious

      At animation and screen recording and zooming in and out? Yes.

      @@Graphicious But for AI and scripting Descript. Why cant we have both in one! lol

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  Před 2 měsíci

      @jack2media both have some of the features. Camtasia does it with Audiate but it requires a roundtrip and a separate subscription. Descript does seem to have them all but the execution isn’t good
