After 20 years as a Telstra telecommunications technician,I would highly recommend doing everything you can to become a qualified electrician as a priority. Most sparkles then do a course as a communication technician as a post trade course,in voice, data and vision.
That's why you get a apprenticeship 5 days a week 2 days study/learning 3 days working earning money while you learn I've got a interview coming up this Friday
How difficult of a trade is telecommunications tech? I was a hvac helper for a year wasnt being trained how to actually do the job. I was thinking it be like an apprenticeship style learning. Lead installer barely taught me anything. Id be willing to do the 3 year program thats close to me. The school says algerba from high school credit requird. Would my college credits count lol too.
Might call me a b*tch, but can any techs here let me know how hard this job is ? I’m a well experienced front desk receptionist with management experience , decent money but not too great benefits . Thinking about trying this out for the better retirement plans , but not willing to break my back . Thanks
It’s pretty difficult especially if you are coming from the desk job environment, But if you’re willing to put a couple years in and are a competent individual, you will be rewarded handsomely.
Im a woman. Dont Knows shit about this. But I'm about to go to school for telecommunications technician. Is it going to be super hard to understand since Im Clueless? 😂🤣 lol sick of shitty desk jobs and shit pay

How did you find it ? Hard, easy ?
My advice, be an electrician instead.
Uhh I left the apprenticeship 2 years in 😂 now I make 40 an hour doing telecom. Left the electrical union only making 18.30 an hour
Same here. I left the electrical industry after 1 year and currently in my last year of schooling for telecomm :))))
@@ThatOnePriest what are u doing in telecomm?
So an electrician does different work than a sound and communication tech???
@@antoniocruz9302 yes way different. Im studying to become a telecomm tech now and its difficult at times but very interesting and fun.
Hahaha.......what a waste of bandwidth.
