  • These Tips make a great improvement when we glue and clamp pieces of plywood together. These are not woodworking tricks that we usually learn, but some specific tips to glue these plywood boards that are made of clear and dark layers making a characteristic pattern. You will discover that the same layer is clear in one edge of the board but is dark in the edge at 90 degrees. So we want to avoid double clear or double dark layers. Also, let's see a woodworking trick to clamp boards making sure we apply pressure evenly on all the surface. We will use something as simple as some wooden wedges.

Yes, and it is very useful in my small shop. But I hope I can make some room for my old homemade table saw and router table, too 😀

I like the jig/fence you made for the saw. Idk why I didn't think of that, time to show the saw some love

1:00 Cable/clamp problem! In my workshop, I have hooks in my ceiling where I easily can hang my cables; easy and safe (a tip from a youtube video) 👍

Not sure that would work well in my small shop. Also the ceiling in my chop is a bit low and I have to move the lights on the tripods when I record my videos and they hit everything in the ceiling

You are right, it's not good when filming in a small space. 👍
I saw Jason Hibbs from Bourbon Moth Woodworking do it in his very, very workshop when he used a router-sled to flat a huge board.
      But for me, being only 1,62 m (5,3 ft) tall, and my ceiling 1,80 m (5,9 ft) in my "huge" 3 x 3 m (9 m2 or 90 ft2) workshop/shed, it kinda works:
I have cut my cables 2 times before, and 0 times after! 😀

Muchas gracias! 👍 Great tips for clamping! 👍
I can't afford all the big and very expensive clamps for glue-ups, and this is a great and very useful tip. Like the many very great tips on this channel 👍❤

I like your solution with wedges instead of curved cauls. Only problem is that if you're making 'a ton' of glue-ups your worktable will look like a Swiss cheese 🧀

Do all those pieces come from the same board? Can you also buy pieces with the reversed pattern or did you shave the original white piece off ?

In the beggining of the video I show how I cut them from the same plywood board

@@WoodworkingwithDIYtools Yeah but I thought you switched them now I watched again. I can see you turned it 90° to get a dark layer oh. Hm
