  • It's been a long time coming but the Rangie is finally back on the road! On the bright side, I'm getting quick at removing the transmission.

    Thanks Ludie. Loved the video but not the music. It was very distracting. Good job with the detective work and machining. The last part showing the old girl flying along was testament to your skills. Cheers 👍🏻🙏🏽🦘

      Hey Graham, glad you liked the vid! How do you suggest I improve the music? different type or just quieter? Thanks!

      Tbh, no music is the best for me. My preference is for the ‘natural’ sounds of machines, engines etc. However, if you prefer it, please turn it down low. Nothing too bouncy. Cheers.

    Hi Ludie, good to see you back, we missed you mate. Just curious how you located the new adaptor to the rear of the crankshaft? I didn't see any kind of spigot/locating step on the crank side of the new adaptor, and it's never good to rely on bolt shanks in holes, or the bolt heads in the counter bores for alignment.👍🇦🇺

      @ludwigseeley6359  Před 2 lety

      The adaptor has a bigger diameter hole on the back that slides over the bung of the crank :) Everything is located now haha 😄

      @@ludwigseeley6359 Ah, ok cool. Sorted. I didn't notice that in the video, I better re-watch your vid🤣 I remembered seeing the crank side of the adaptor was machined flat, and that you had allowed for alignment of the factory piece on the back side, but I didn't know the crank has a spigot/step ring already built in...I really should pay more attention to Mike's engine build videos🤣👍🇦🇺

      @@ludwigseeley6359 Although, saying that about Mike's engine videos, I seem to remember your engine was VW or something completely different to a Range Rover engine anyway?... I'll have to go back and re-watch your engine install vid now...the time when Mike came to scrutinize..lol🤣

    I hope you took down measurements of that plate in case it ever breaks again.

      Totally forgot to.. however it takes me no more than 2 hours and a half to get the trans out now so not too big a deal haha

    what kind of fuel consumption do you get with this engine?
