Hey guys. Does your truck have a tunnel, a topper or lid? If so then you probably need the Tailgate Seal from Truxedo. Hi. I'm John with RealTruck.com. And today, I'm gonna talk to you about and show you how to install the Truxedo Tailgate Seal on to your truck.
I'm gonna show you, how step-by-step to do this. The first thing you wanna do as always if you're playing anything that has like the double-sided tape, like our seal does. You wanna make sure that the area that you're gonna attached to, have been thoroughly cleaned. Now what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna use a cleaner on it and then after that, we have the alcohol pad that comes with your [TruxSeal] so that we can clean it up even better with this, after I wipe it down here. Once we get the initial cleaning down and what we're gonna do is use the supplied alcohol wipe to remove any residue or anything that might be left behind by a cleaner. Once we have that cleaned, what we're gonna do is take your TruxSeal and we're going to stretch it out across the back, so that we can get an idea how big of a piece that we need. Then you can use scissors, razor knifes whatever you have and cut these off. Then what we're gonna do is we're gonna peel the backing off of it. Now, the other thing is that you install this in a correct way because if you don't, it won't work properly. As you can see looking at the TruxSeal, the Tailgate Seal here that has a larger end up at the top and then the thinner section at the bottom. You want this larger bulb end up at the top towards the bed of your truck. Once we get it the go in here. Just want you to follow along the edge of your truck box. Once we have the bottom section on then we're just gonna do the sides the same way. Something to keep in mind is that if you notice when you get done, you have a pretty good chunk up left over, don't worry about that. Because this is a 10 foot roll, it's universal, works on many different styles of trucks.
Okay guys, there you have it. That's how quick, simple and easy it is to install the TruxSeal, Tailgate Seal from Truxedo to your truck. So until next time, happy motoring.
Hey, I'm thinking... I wonder if we can fill this thing up with water now make a swimming pool out of this. 866-554-0581 Free shipping for orders over $100!

Since the seal only has adhesive on half the backing and you say put the large end up, where there's no adhesive, it's going to fill with dirt. I just did what you said and I think you are wrong. The big end should be down as not to let water "UP" through the bottom of the tailgate.

I find it amazing how real truck has not replied to your comment. I think I'm returning the product. Thanks for the heads up.

I asked Truxedo which way the large side (bulb) should go and they told me it depends on the model of truck . Great help ! I installed it bulb side down at the tailgate bottom as you stated and bulb side in towards bed on the sides . Seems to work well but time will tell . 2019 Chevy Colorado .

Any updates on the 2019 install?

I installed how I thought it would work best. I haven't had any problems and the cover has held up nicely. It's been on the truck for about 3 yrs. Minimal rain gets in, just a little. But I'm now thinking of traveling & camping and thinking about getting something hard shell to be better bear/animal safe. Plus better secure for Theft Protection.

Yep, just make sure you're cleaning the surface before you stick it on.

Real Truck has two different ways of installing this seal. I think I'm returning mine before I install it. Beginning to think this is just a scam 👎
The one here shows fatter end up across bottom and sides in the door jam. The other one shows sides installed on the inside of truck bed , to where you could install it with tailgate closed. I'm confused and directions on box are very vague.
