Enjoyed watching you teach and give your grandchild a lesson in learning real world applications. I hope to see your Rockhill Farm logo on the tail wheel!! Good job Brock. It already looks sharp but will even be better once the 2nd bridge is in and the lily pads are reduced. Great job!

Nicely done, Brock. No doubt there were a couple of "oh, shoot!" moments in getting that tower erected - but in the end, it's up and no one had to call an ambulance. I'd say that's an entry in the 'win' column right there!

Nice job, Brock. Your humor and patience have shown thru today. Also, I'm impressed with your loving instruction to your grandson on the use of the impact driver. Future generations can always benefit, when they learn from those blazing the trail. Keep up the good work. Your videos are always the first ones I watch each day!

Looking good Brock - the pond is really coming together! I appreciate the detailed explanations and leaving it to our imaginations for the challenges with getting the windmill upright lol. You are a wonderful grandpa letting your grandson help out. Heck in no time he'll be buzzing around in WALL-E like a busy beaver 😁
I'm impressed with the windmill - very cool! Now I just need a pond so I can have one. Conversation with my wife will go something like this... Wife: Why are we building a $10,000 pond again? Me: So we can get a windmill! Wife: Ah...
Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work! 🤠

I have made a couple comments in the past. With suggestions on what to use to get rid of vegetation from your pond. Well, I have never experienced lily pads in my pond. So, I hope I haven`t steered you wrong on anything. As I see how those lilies are taking over your pond. At this point a lake rake of some type (Amazon has plenty) is probably your best bet. At least to thin them for now. Pull the rake with tractor or maybe some helpers on a 4-wheeler. Windmill looks awesome.

Great video, Brock! Congrats on the windmill..it's a beauty! One minor issue that I thought I would mention (for reference/future projects) is that you generally want to wrap your teflon tape in the same direction that you will be tightening the fitting onto it. In this case, you went the opposite direction which can serve to peel back the tape and cause it to bunch up in places, causing micro gaps in the threads. Since it's not a high pressure element in this case, I don't think it matters much but just for "correctness factor" I wanted to point that out :D Otherwise..amazing job as always and highly informative and (as you promised) entertaining. Have a good one!

It looks great. Ok here's my thought as a ROI. Build a covered pavilion with picnic tables as a rental venue for people to rent for birthday parties and what not. Keep the pond stocked with bream that are easy for kids to catch and allow fishing as an added draw to the rental. I'll be expecting a percentage of the proceeds for coming up with the idea so be sure to calculate that in.

I have referred to your video several times and I have not yet completed the assembly of a 23'. The written instructions provided with this windmill are about the worse I've seen considering the price you pay for the mill. Thank you for doing the video.

My 1st thought was..wow this guy likes nut & bolts! Reminds me of my erector set when I was a kid. Too bad your grandson didn't hang around while you were putting it together.
Have you ever tried to put black plastic garbage bags or a large tarp over the pond vegetation to kill it? I have an area of stone that kept growing grass & weeds, I put a tarp over it (from Home Depot) with the black side up, the heat build up under it & lack of sun killed all the grass & every weed.
Enjoy your work! Thanks for sharing your issues & problems, most would never do that!

Now I see what you mean when you mentioned the fun you had getting the concrete done in the podcast. Probably making you wish you only did the 4 inch by 4 ft pad huh? Haha. Looks good though!

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  Před rokem +2

Yeah, we carried Almost a full yard of concrete in 5 gallon buckets
And his mix was to thick so it got stuck in the shoot and we had to climb up the shoot to shovel down.
No fun in that heat for an old fat guy

Hey Brock, i just finished building my American Eagle windmill yesterday.
Thank you for the video. You had very good pointers on the build.
Question on the Y-valve splitter. Mine is leaking air on the intake side so they are sending me a gasket to hopefully stop the air leak. Did you have any issues with yours, and have you taken it apart? Im ready to see some air bubbles in the pond!
    Take care.
