@@kenhunt price is way too cheap in the US, in my shithole called France they go for 2500 euros to 2760 euros depending on the color you want. I can’t understand why it’s more expensive here since the product is made in Finland which is in Europe.
HI you dont need to take the action apart to adjust the trigger pull it can be reached with a ordinary allen key only if you want to change the spring in the trigger unit do you need to take it apart as the head of the spring adjuster hits the take down bolt when its loosened to it max [[ lowest poundage ]] , its designed that way to avoid the screw coming out unintentionally
One minor issue I had that other owners may want to take note of. The pivot pin for the mag release wasnt fit very tight on my rifle. It fell out during a deer hunt, and by the grace of god I noticed before I lost the little pin, spring, or mag release. It was still loose after reinstall, but a dab of superglue on both sides has mine staying put.
What are these two small rings on the other side of the bolt for? You can see them on 3rd minute of the video on the left hand side screen. Two small rings set sideway to the rifle.
The two small rings are a very sturdy Sling Mount that will accept traditional sling mount coupling as well as quick release sling coupling. When I opened the newly arrived Tikka T3X Tactical A1, this Sling Mount is already attached to the rifle exactly as you see. The accessories boxed with the rifle includes another identical Sling Mount and hardware for attaching it to your favorite location on the gun. I hope this clarifies the structure on the Tikka.
Hey how can I adjust the muzzle brake on this ? I recently bought this rifle when I installed the included muzzle brake the cuts on the brake doesn’t set to left/right position instead it’s pointed up/down.
What's required to take the barrel nut housing on/off? I have an extra barreled action lying around. Looking at buying one of these chassis on the used marked, but didn't know if it would require taking the barrel off the action to get the nut on. Thanks.
C I do not know. I would assume a barrel vice and a big ass wrench. Sorry. If you want to get rid of that action let me Know. I don’t think you need to take it off, but I’m not sure...
@@amorphousgear2085 Did a bit more research. I think I was referring to the forend adapter. Barrel is still shouldered and this isn't a barrel nut system. Apparently it has a small screw that goes into the scope rail, but beyond that the barrel just slips off.
Any idea what is involved to uninstall the factory? Got a PVA prefit barrel nut barrel, but got told the Tikka factory action/barrel requires some special tool to uninstall, not sure if this is the case.
Have you experienced or heard of any top tier barrel companies having replacement barrels that we can just swap? Or would it be wise to take to a gunsmith?
Johnathan Kim I cant find much information on this but it doesn’t appear to be user replaceable. I believe it requires some special tooling. I know Frank from Snipers Hide had a Bartlein barrel put on his.

I really want to do a part 2. I still have this gun, and it’s still in a very similar configuration, and no not really. I’ve been out of the gun industry for a few years now but still stay connected. I can’t think of a better value. As far as your scope question goes, there are some really good budget options out now that weren’t back then. I’ve been really impressed with Arken in my limited use…so we’ll have to see! Thanks for watching.
Anyone know if the barrel can be changed by the average shooter? An RPR's barrel can be changed by the owner with a set of headspace guages and basic tools. Barrels are consumable items and will eventually need changing if you want to maintain accuracy.
boutique53 Don’t quote me on this but I think the short answer is no. There’s little information I can find about swapping Tikka barrels. Just keep reading, “Use a quality gun Smith”.
Does anyone know if the tikka tac a1 action 6.5 creedmoor will fit directly into a grs bifrost stock? ( I understand the foot print is the same for tikka tx3)..Wanting to cut the weight down to do abit off hunting..
Yes, I have done just that swap between my CTR and TAC A1. However, the factory CTR action screws are too short for the TAC A1 chassis. You will need longer screws (or the TAC A1 chassis screws).
Have you ever removed or taken the butt stock off, would be good to see the disassembly of that as well as its supposed to be very difficult to do for some reason.
@@amorphousgear2085 I am wanting to change the Butt stock for another one or somthing better. I can undo the castle nut but there must be something else that needs to be loosened that i cant see that's still got it fastened tight.
mike evans You should be able to remove that castle but and screw in any mil spec AR buffer tube. Do you not like the stock? I’ve found mine to work excellent.
AG, thought that I would give you an update. I couldn't get the mini buffer tube to break free from the receiver after loosening the castle nut. I decided to take it to my local Beretta warranty gunsmith before I screwed it up. They also couldn't get it to come apart and sent it back to Beretta. Six weeks later I got it back and it looks like they replaced the stock. Can't wait to mount optic and get it back to range. Thanks again for the help.
I haven't messed with it to much but the nut appears to be tight. it wiggles where the stock attaches to the mini-buffer tube. I assume there is a nut or bolt inside thee that attaches the stock to the tube. but I could be wrong. Great video. Thanks for the help.
AG did you have a chance to look at your stock? I took my rifle out yesterday, it was awesome (even with me behind it). I still have the stock wiggle but it shot great.
That's an excellent question. I doubt that the receiver has the same thread pitch as an AR15 barrel nut. That being said, why would you want to change it? It's basically perfect. lol
Thank you for this detailed demonstration. My new Tikka T3X Tac A1 is arriving tomorrow at mt FFL's. Excited!!!
That is my next purchase very soon. Thanks for sharing
Trigger can be adjusted without taking down the rifle. The adjusting screw is accessible through the magazine well.

I was about to say for about $1600 (on cheaperthandirt.com) it better have an externally adjustable trigger

What are the torque specs for all screws when you put it back?
