@@damienoptc7222 That's too simple. The forfeiture of the belts by TWO champions kept things moving (probably because they had Pereira to step in). Imagine if Jiri hadn't of been injured... he would have been fighting on. The matchups are all still there. Now you have a cluster of guys, all back from injury, all wanting to get their careers back on track. Compare it to HW... division held up. I think Strickland and DDP get credit for actually moving MW along. Alex left it how he found it - Adesanya with the belt after a magnificent come back and KO.
What Pereira does bring is his omnipotence. Everyone knows they have to work hard and nail it to beat him. As it should be, so that's exciting. Everyone's game will be improving because the champion is proving to be unbreakable.

Fair critiques on Khalil, Lucas. What I think you are failing to account for is the leveling up Khalil has been doing since that Anthony Smith fight. It's a tougher fight to pick at this point in time with Hill coming off that chinning from Alex. I feel like the jump in competition from the last version of Khalil we've seen and current Jamahal Hill isn't as extreme as you think it may be. My gut tells me Khalil enters LHW title contendership off of this fight, maybe that will change with the roll out, we'll see.
