Loved the vibe
As a cyclist, if they could record longer than 60 seconds at a time (or better yet, record the last 60 seconds into RAM), and last longer than 30 minutes or an hour of recording, then they'd be a game changer for recording cycling commutes in case of an accident.
I have seen the limit specified anywhere, is it actually limited to 60 sec of recording?

As someone who was just hit by a car on Monday while riding scooter, I completely agree.
Yeah, that would be a great use for them. I would even use these as a dashcam, since I'm always wearing sunglasses while driving.
100% agree, I feel more than 60 seconds and landscape would be top priority.
The 30 second cache, I think with the current tech, battery is just not big enough, and also maybe heating! But more than 60 seconds should be allowed, let it be personal decision to drain it faster.
As a schizophrenic that hallucinate sounds and visuals, I would love to be able to record my entire day and if I doubt if something actually happened I could go back and rewatch it. This could be a game changer for people with disabilities.
This is an excellent point Ty for sharing this. As someone who has owned these one month and has disabilities, I absolutely love them. They don’t meet all of my needs currently but they’re pretty close
Mics are very impressive. These would be fun to use on holiday.

Just won a pair - pretty amazing - they also translated whatever I was looking at (English/Italian/Spanish/French/German) - was able to answer a math problem I wrote down - was able to answer a multiple choice question on screen - basically also acts like a BT headset so all my music streaming works great - send/listen to txts and calls - v6 update now allows 3min vids 😎
I'm used to strapping a gopro to my head/chest a lot especially for vacations. I also listen to music a lot so maybe I'll save up the money to pick up a pair. I also love your cats! 🥺 ❤

@ko7577 I think it's more or less for games that take a while ( for example, goalies and baseball players) when nothing is going on, why not be discrete & listen to music

Great review! They looks amazing too. During covid lockdowns I kinda got addicted to CZcams walking videos as a way of 'getting out of the house' virtually. These would be great for that, also holidays too. Yes Vic your cats are adorable and mine has the same issue with the phone... I can use that to justify these lol

This gen 2 is amazing. FB did a fantastic job on this. All the basic yet essential features work very well: videos/ photos, speaker & mic. The photo needs improvement though. I took picture of a paper with words on it and the words are very blurry, even in good lighting.
Needed more light or to focus in more- photo is near perfect.

Facebook/Meta is literally the last company I'd trust with this level of privacy. I hope we have other options soon.

I’m a big wayfarer user and someone who also uses lots of action cameras for photography BTS. Just got mine in and stoked to give them a try. Wish it had longer than 60 seconds tho

Love the review as I bought two waferers. I also love the term "Glass-Holes"...lol. I love mine as I am not having to use my phone or wiping out my big sony A7III or go pro to capture quick photos or videos especially from POV. Thanks again for a great review.
I was never able to get the last gen versions to work with an iPhone or an Android phone. The app was terrible. Hopefully they’ve made improvements there.
Making videos from this perspective is gold for virtual reality, which I guess is the point.
Could be useful for taking photos / videos during a hike where typically I don't want to be constantly pulling my phone out while in nature but am often presented with beautiful landscapes that would be nice to capture

Can we talk about not being able to change then lens. I went to ray ban and the sales lady said I couldn’t switch out the lens cause it’s hard to do so. They also said they don’t offer insurance for them if you scratch the lens and want to get the lens fixed.

Great video as always. I’d like to know what media, if any, gets sent directly to Meta/Facebook and what do they have the rights to? Facebook has had some pretty sketch pricey issues in the past and I think a few of them are still ongoing so before I slap a Facebook camera to my face, what do they get?

The music that starts 4:30 sounds almost exactly like Google Home's alarm. It's not the first Verge video I'm hearing it in, and every time I'm freaking out and taking my headphones off to check if I actually have an alarm ringing 😱
The amazing fact is to keep your phone in your pockets and reduce your phone usage.
I totally agree with having a COVER for the lenses, I love POV photos/camera footages but sometimes people do think I'm some stalker on my morning runs when they see that I have 2 micro "cameras" pointing at them, regardless if they know theirs suppose to be a pulsating light or not they just find it uncomfortable.
That would be an improvement for more considerate users, but the burden is still on the user. Creeps and glassholes just wouldn’t use the cover.
No mention of the AI assistant, not even in passing or as a future consideration or update???
Ya, very strange that it was not brought up. I think it’s for the good, it’s best for the AI chatbot to improve outside of the limelight.
I like that its subtle about the noises and all that. I hate beeps and loud noises.
The fact that you can record/preserve memories while actually being present in the moment without looking through a screen, seems like a great and human functionality.

Great video! The 1st gen round frames came in a size medium, yet the gen 2 round frames only come in large for some reason. I hope they change that

Ray bans WASNT popular in the 90’s I just checked the price I was like what 😂 ray bans was considered cheap not stylish they was like the brand you find shopping in Walmart or the dollar store more women was wearing the shades then men rayban had alot of competition in the 90’s

So winter time these are no good?
The selling problem was never about the tech. It was about privacy invasion and the creepiness of people wearing them. Glassholes, not to put too fine a point on it. If someone tried to engage me in conversation while wearing these, I would likely ask that they be removed or leave the conversation. If someone is openly holding a camera, there is advance warning. Given issues with big tech sending data back to home base without asking, I would also wonder as a wearer exactly how much of the data is going back to the data pile for AI training.
If only my work didn't prohibit cameras onsite (without addign stickers to cover them). These look like the best smartglasses you can get, but i wish i could trade the cameras for some other feature.
How long can you live stream for?
I don't know if it's possible, but I'd love a switch to switch the sensor to horizontal mode.

The M1 MacBook Pro "issue" is a bug with bluetooth on Sonoma. Wait for a fix or simply unpair from your phone first, then repair after rebooting your MacBook.

Cannot stop being recorded. This will be mainstream. The light indicator for recording is with the camera. Previous gen had a separate light that could be covered. But that won’t stop people using it in any situation
I still haven’t used my stories, not sure if this would make any difference lol how are the image quality compared to the previous?
since no one else replied i figured i would. I’ve heard that they can take 4k photos and 2k60fps video, and that the stories were substantially lower resolution with a weird square aspect ratio as opposed to the new ones more normal rectangular aspect ratio

Do they have to be posted to instagram/Facebook? I would just like to save photos to my phone. I’m not a social media guy. For example, I’ll be going to the Lindsey Stirling tour and I would like to take pictures but not post them.
How waterproof are they?
I like them but hopefully they allow longer clips in an update, landscape mode in the next version and we need lass laggy video, anti glare lenses, anti fingerprint coating, the light needs to be able to be disabled like any other camera, there are plenty of legal times you can record in public or as a safety camera you might not want the attacker to notice, record a police encounter or not want to attract attention in public. They need to be 100% waterproof, solvent proof, I like the speakers the best and now I want multiple pairs of these in large. A mat black with the polarized gradient lenses, mat black with transitions and a Carmel color one with the polarized, amber lenses. I like the idea of not having to wear ear buds and having a camera for emergencies or spontaneous wow moments. I like the AI too for the answers to math problems, information and weather, spelling, trivia etc. like I have random questions and it knows a lot of answers out of the blue. It’s like having chat GPT in my head or brain augmentation. It will get better too. People worry about Creeps but everyone has a phone. A real creep can get any type of spy equipment you can imagine. As long as someone isn’t in a dressing room or somewhere there’s an expectation of privacy you’re good. Now you know what they look like you can spot one right? I can. If you see someone wearing these while you’re in the locker room and they’re recording without consent, yes they’re a creep but normal people will use this the same way we use a phone camera. In public where it’s perfectly legal and we don’t need to notify anyone. Many states are a one party consent to record and it’s perfectly legal in many situations. The light violates my right to film in public without drawing attention to myself. You know every business and almost every car has a camera rolling? These are great for an emerging technology it’s finally usable and stylish. Can’t wait till the next generation comes out. I will be a buyer.

I don't care for cameras, I just want a HUD with a small map in the corner, popups for when my phone buzzes and the time.... as well as being able to add other things as I see fit.
Extra footage is great except when it's not in the aspect ratio you want.
