I'm 33 and spent many many hours laughing at Norman... my grandad introduced me to him at a very young age and I was hooked instantly.. one of my favorites is still when he joins the navy and ends up in space 😂😂😂 and a dental scene from another I can't recall the name... nonetheless he is a legend to me who helped me through some dark teenage years with laughter..💙
Some actors you grow up watching and Norman was one of mine, a small man with such a big heart who still today brings a smile. That says it all, RIP Norman your a legend too many.
Norman Wisdom was a real gent. I met him many times when I lived in the Isle of Man. My Grandad was his gardener (and very close friend for several years). I almost bought a BMW Motorbike from him ! - but he had the suspension lowered about 4 inches and it was too small for me. Went to his funeral and the promenade in Douglas was lined with people paying their respect to him. He ended his days in a nursing home in Ballasalla but was always trying to make people happy - a real nice guy and a very talented musician, I think he played about 7 instruments and not a bad singer either. R.I.P Sir Norman, one of a kind.
Incredibly talented man who had such a terrible start in life , had spells homeless, unemployed etc but just an incredible man. His autobiography ,My turn ( from about 20years ago) is a wonderful read .
Sir Norman is and remains in hearts of so many including mine ..he really was so well loved worldwide and in Albania South America Iran and his style of humour and an underdog always coming finally to top was an inspiration to so many ...his OBE was totally justified
Some folk laugh in the face of adversity, this extraordinary man absolutely roared his way through it. His autobiography contains every emotion known to man. A true Brit of the old school, and a gentleman.
I loved when the old bag referred to Norman as that dangerous little man is playing obviously meaning he’s a thorn in their side and a potential threat?
I'd hazard a guess that she is referring to something that happened previously in the film. His whole Schtick was the lovable rogue type, so he probably did something wrong when they met. 😂
I don't know the context of the the line, but feel like I should say: "Where's your banjo!?" next time I'm on the pitch. Should be confusing enough to throw opponents off their game! :D
I'm guessing it's a reference to the old 'black-faced' minstrels shows. Some of the minstrels would play banjo to songs like 'Camptown Races', 'Dixie', 'Oh, Susannah', etc.
Norman entered the movie industry when most British films were dominated by a snobbish class of actor who very few ordinary people could relate to, hence why American films were so successful. Norman was a genius of comedy but unfortunately his earlier films are difficult to watch not because of him but because of most of the supporting cast.
Never understood how anyone found him amusing! Man,woman or child. His acting didn't help that for sure. Like a Back To The Future Lee Evan's. Another one I wouldn't pay in washers!
u 3 oafs wouldn't know talent if it bit u on the bottom.handsome, talented, charismatic, funny, great singer,he could play every musical instrument there was and he always got the girl the lucky so and so.we will never see his like again.Rip Norman,Sir.

Don’t make films like this anymore, shame.

Ah the good old days when you could tackle. They go down a lot easier and squeal a damn sight more than Reggie at 5.25 in todays games.
This film is awesome and major keep off the grass
Where's your banjo 😂😂😂😂😂
Sir Reginald - the one so many take their 'playing style' from now
Norman took the place of boris Johnson in goal
Best line 5:31 - "He's so bravvve"
I was a sub in that match ,but I did not get on.
I was an aircraft carrier. Played the full 90.

@@RugbyGuide But I agree, it will definitely confuse your opponents.

Who'd have thought Norman Wisdom doing black face....🤣
The "Where's Your Banjo" is a bit Millwall like.
definitely offside :)
Like playing Man Utd,
At around 5.40, the creepy middle aged guy seems really excited to be watching a young boy play football.

Where's the banjo. Today this line make me cringe.
"wheres yer banjo"!!!!!......oh how we laughed!!...but that was what we were brought up to "accept" as funny, sadly.
The truth is Norman Wisdom was known as horrible little man!!!!!
Where you getting that from? Nonsense
Never understood how anyone found him amusing! Man,woman or child.
His acting didn't help that for sure.
Like a Back To The Future Lee Evan's.
Another one I wouldn't pay in washers!
Just chucking this out there see if anyone in AGREEMENT.
Same if I'm honest. This video was bloody awful. Painful
He was a one trick pony , it wasn’t funny when he first did it and certainly wasn’t funny years later but fair play to him for making money out of it
