Yummy !! You inspired me to make a MASSIVE Bubble & Squeak using the entire Christmas dinner. I couldn’t be bothered to wait for leftovers . After all , I was so stuffed after eating burgers, chicken kievs and battered cod fillets that I couldn’t manage it. Wifey and kids weren’t too happy but they did enjoy the Bubble in the end ! And, with the leftover Bubble, I’m going to make……..more Bubble lol 😂

A magnificent cookery lesson video youve done there. I never used to like bubble and squeak as a child when my mom made it for us. But the one you've showed how to make here looks gorgeous! Also having a beer to go with it at 11am - fair play to you Sir, brilliant. I want some of the Bubble n Squeak right now. Oh and remember its Christmas for 12 days starting on the 25th Dec to 5th Jan inclusive. So keep celebrating and making it merry Gareth. All the best.
@@keithclark6299 my bubble and squeak was never a preferred meal as I knew it was made from on the dregs from the previous day or similar. However made so exquisitely and with such finesse that Gareth did it's made it look most enticing and tempting. Cheers.

Can’t beat a good bubble and squeak Gareth; and that looks good! Nice to see you enjoying one of my two go-to beers; love to hear your thoughts on Old Crafty Hen. Love the videos, keep up the good work.
Looked good that Gareth, it's great to see people using the leftovers rather than throwing them in the bin ! And I've never heard of bubble and squeak though 😅✌🏽
Bubble and Squeak you can’t beat a lovely basically free meal on a Monday evening usually after a Sunday roast the day before. And of course like you done after Christmas. And of course you can use any ingredients. What is nice bubble and Squeak with cold turkey and grate some cheddar cheese in the pan , Beautiful. But yours looked lovely to . So many different ways of doing it , some people even have it with a full English. Even my local pub sells it on the Menu. Ps the beer looked good to . It would be good to see some beer and wine reviews before New Year’s Eve . Cheers Gareth great review 👍🍻
I love to cook but I have never done bubble and squeak. Looks really good though Gareth. I love it on a full English brekkie. All the best for the New Year to you and all. Hope you had a good Christmas. 👍👍👍

Throwing good food away is like throwing money away . I love bubble & squeak with a couple of fried eggs and some uncut crusty bread lashings of quality butter . You done a good job there . If you can review Jeremy Clarkson‘s new lager , that would be good . Cheers
Brilliant, looks like one of the healthiest things you've tucked into for quite some time, no E numbers or preservatives in that lot (well maybe a bit in the salami). Just love bubble 'n' squeak with a fried egg on top! For the beer, I have been on Saltaire Cascade, and Punk IPA lovely and hoppy :)
Bubble & Squeak... Yum!... One of my favourites Gaz... I've never tried it without Mashed Potatoes before... But the chopped Roast Potatoes seemed to work well too... When we make this... we put in left over meat from our roast joint... and also use any left over stuffing as well... It all adds to the delicious taste of the Bubble & Squeak... You made a great job of that my friend... I'm very hungry now pal... So i'm going to raid the fridge for something nice to eat... 😋 All the best mate... Cheers. 🍺

That looks delicious Gareth, I haven't had bubble n squeak for ages as don't normally have leftovers. Tell you what I am doing today though, I've used up the leftover chicken, cooked some mushrooms and chucked the leftover gravy in a pan along with some double cream to make a creamy sauce. I'm making a chicken n mushroom pie for our tea later. Going to have it with mash and veg....oh, and I made my own rough puff pastry so feel well happy with how it's turned out. Good to hear you and all your family, in-laws included had a lovely Christmas 🎄 😀 😊
That looks a mighty breakfast Gareth....mighty. When I looked at the ingredients I said to myself 'that has to work', I bet it tasted good. The ale looked good as well at 6.5 per cent, the ale over here in Ireland is not the best, but then again the Guinness is superb!! Happy New Year.
Another great video Gareth, I'm drooling just watching it cook. I buy a pack of 4 cans of bitter from Tesco at £1, bottle of lemonade £-50p and I have a shandy.
Good lad. Very nice bubble n squeak! I get the Abbot Reserve fairly often. A good drink. I'm typing this at 3.40pm, so I reckon you've had time for another 4 bottles, eh Gaz? Happy rest of the holiday to you and yours, mate.
Instead of sprouts you can use cabbage thats well drained, but what i do when I make B&S is use a little bit of pork dripping for the caramelisation then to top is off is a couple of eggs cracked on top five minutes before serving so the yokes are still soft, then when serving stare the yokes in. 👌
The worst thing about going to our Daughter’s home for Christmas, although we had a fantastic day, was that there were no leftovers! Gareth, the next time Aldi have a special selling the coloured chopping boards, do consider buying them. Green for vegetables, white for chicken, red for meat and blue for seafood. Use your wooden board for your bread and NOT things like pungent onions 🧅 please. Happy New Year - love your videos even though we don’t have Iceland over here in Australia but know it well because our daughter is now a Pom! 😂 Bubble and Squeak without peas is pretty boring don’t you think? Sort of brown!
G'day Gareth. Yes, a "Bubble and Squeak" is the best method for leftovers. You did a great job on this one, it browned up very well. I rarely make it, but when I do it's with roast lamb and veggie mash. So nice on buttered toast. Tip: Cut to size of pan some Baking Paper leaving a Tab to hold and place it on top of the B&S before you flip it. This will make it easier to slide back in the pan. That Beer looks wonderful. I could easily find an excuse to sink one before midday. I'm going to google it and see if it's available in Australia 🇦🇺. Cheers Chef... Another great cook up today. 👍🤤😀🇦🇺
Yes can best it. Great tip that. I should of used a plate too. Yes the beer went down well. Straight to my head. Cricket is a lost cause now. All the best 🏏😋👍
@@BaldFoodieGuy @ 6.8% it would and curl the chest hair 👍. Just when England started to show some promise and back in the Test, they Chuck it all away. They're bowling and fielding against Australia was superb, but then loosing those quick wickets so cheaply brought all the good work undone. It must be so frustrating for the side. I haven't seen any British broadcasting, but I can imagine what's being said. The tabloids must be having a field day trashing the the match. If...IF there's any hope for England it better come sooner than later. 😕
@@johndavis7944 The 5% one is probably a different one than the one Gaz is drinking, Abbot do a few different ones but you should buy one anyway, just to try it, they are lovely beers. 🙂
I like garlic, usually have it raw chopped up with a meal. We had no leftovers today, so made something different with onions, spinach, tomato soup, uncle Ben's rice and 4 eggs, mixed together in one pan, added some salt, garlic powder and soy sauce to taste for the 2 of us.
We finished Christmas leftovers as bubble and squeak on Monday. We had mashed potatoes, carrots, sprouts, onion , and pork, it was delicious. Here's a tip for you, I use a nutmeg grater to grate my garlic, its better than chopping , the press is not that good.
Hi Gareth hope all’s well. That looks amazing 🤩 with your meat platter in it too 😋 I’d have garlic in mine but my partner isn’t keen on it (except garlic bread from some places 🤦♀️ 🤦♀️ 🙄) 😂 😆 It would be great if you were to have a livestream before New Years, it’s great crack. 😂 Too many of those real ales would have ya on your back 😂 Great video again, love watching ya cooking 🧑🍳 😘
Love bubble and squeak! I only use lard to get that golden crunchy crust! It's great with a full English or, at this time of year, I enjoy a hefty slice of boiled ham and poached eggs! Your version looks good too ... I think with the veg and the meat mixed I would have gone down the frittata route!
@@BaldFoodieGuy My late mother was Fat Ladies Old School and lard, beef dripping, suet were staples in her fridge/store cupboard! I try to stick with what I was brought up with! Being retired I have time to prepare meals from scratch but I'm introducing some of your supermarket comparison winners!

Yes no good mate. Time I get up is finished. Just watch highlights. All the best 😋👍👍
@@BaldFoodieGuy I found the beer here in Australia. It's not readily available and not cheap either, an Arm and a Leg $ and only 5% ABV.
@@johndavis7944 The 5% one is probably a different one than the one Gaz is drinking, Abbot do a few different ones but you should buy one anyway, just to try it, they are lovely beers. 🙂
got to agree, not burnt black, but crispy brown, lovely
Happy new year Gareth !
Good call with the bruschetta meats in the bubble and squeak. Going to do the same later today. Spot On Gareth.,
Cheers Michael, enjoy 😋😋😋👍
I like garlic, usually have it raw chopped up with a meal.
We had no leftovers today, so made something different with onions, spinach, tomato soup, uncle Ben's rice and 4 eggs, mixed together in one pan, added some salt, garlic powder and soy sauce to taste for the 2 of us.
Yummy Brian. All the best 😋😋👍
OMG that looks awesome....😋😋
Mmmm my favourite boxing day breakfast together with the pigs in blankets, anything that was left from Christmas day went in the pan!!
Yes got to be done George. All the best 😋👍👍
@@BaldFoodieGuy also to you and your good lady!!
I haven’t had bubble and squeak for a long time, that looked lovely
Cheers Sue 😋😋👍
That looked lovely that mmmmm 😋 And the beer to wash it down - you can't wack it!
Cheers Rob 😋😋👍
We finished Christmas leftovers as bubble and squeak on Monday.
We had mashed potatoes, carrots, sprouts, onion , and pork, it was delicious. Here's a tip for you, I use a nutmeg grater to grate my garlic, its better than chopping , the press is not that good.
Cheers Bev. I missed the fried egg too lol. I blame the beer lol
Looking very scrumptious
Had it yesterday and will have it later
Cheers 😋😋🍻🍻
Hi Gareth hope all’s well. That looks amazing 🤩 with your meat platter in it too 😋 I’d have garlic in mine but my partner isn’t keen on it (except garlic bread from some places 🤦♀️ 🤦♀️ 🙄) 😂 😆
It would be great if you were to have a livestream before New Years, it’s great crack. 😂 Too many of those real ales would have ya on your back 😂
Great video again, love watching ya cooking 🧑🍳 😘
Cheers Joanne, yes more coming videos coming. I enjoy cooking sometimes lol. Yes will see about the live stream. Yes drink responsibly lol x
nice bit of bubble mate, had some this morning with a fried egg and streaky bacon.
Yummy, yes a fried egg I forgot 😋😋👍
Love bubble and squeak! I only use lard to get that golden crunchy crust! It's great with a full English or, at this time of year, I enjoy a hefty slice of boiled ham and poached eggs! Your version looks good too ... I think with the veg and the meat mixed I would have gone down the frittata route!
Cheers Robert, good idea with the lard. All the best 😋😋👍
Cheers Robert, can't go wrong with old school 😋👍👍
We love Bubble and squeek with the leftovers so tasty and filling. Hope you and the family had a lovely Christmas. Well done on 19K foodies. Should add your Garlic after the onion go soft it keeps its flavour better and doesn't burn. Oh I can smell it already. 😊😊
Cheers, yes you can't beat it 🍻😋👍👍
