To anyone who cherishes this movie check out (if you haven't already) Made For Each Other (1971 as well) with Joseph Bologna and Rene Taylor, plus Last Of The Red Hot Lovers (1972) with Alan Arkin, Sally Kellerman, Paula Prentiss, Rene Taylor, The Heartbreak Kid (1972) with Eddie Albert, Charles Grodin and finally I Love My Wife (1970) with Elliot Gould and Brenda Vaccaro. These are hilarious jewish black comedies from a time when comedy really was funny and brilliant. Made For Each Other and I Love My Wife have never even had proper home video releases sadly so are difficult to track down.
One of the masterpieces of its period. Feiffer captures the nervous breakdown of '68 and Arkin perfectly delivers it.
My second or third favorite movie of all time. Genius writing and performance.
I agree. It's definitely up there on my top 10. And this monologue never fails to make me laugh.
I saw this in College 47years ago. Brilliant scene by Lou Jacobi!

Brilliant writing and performances make this a classic dark comedy alongside Dr. Strangelove.
Lou Jacobi is brilliant as the Judge.
