The problem is that EVERY tank that relied on armor instead of dpm or pen/fire rate has slowly and surely become obsolete due to power creep and gold spam.
plus they are too slow, they have crap penetration
and always face unpenetrable turret tanks hulldown
But we can deal with it with very slope armor
@@211q1 the point is: e100 ,maus , type 5 heavy are just driving free Hitpoint on the map with bad guns
On the other hand there is high DPM chieftain or superconq or kranvagn with nearly impossible to penetrate turret
The old top tier heavy tank which is t110e5
Right now is so slow
-8 depression is so bad compared to kranvagn -12
Big cupola which is easy to hit
In my times, Armour was balanced with frontal weak spots you had to learn to hide and shot
Used to love type 4 & 5 heavies with the less derpy guns but after some nerfs and patches I decided to sell them and just keep the japanese tiger and that's a tank I still like even thou it's not op in any way.
I got the HT VI too and I like it. Not overpowered in anyway but it’s decently mobile and has a great gun

The Type-5 was my first Tier 10 tank so the whole line has always been special to me. It all started when I was on console like 8 years ago and people would roll around in O-I Expirimentals and I could do nothing about it. I started grinding the line and I've loved them ever since.
Man, I remember playing the O-I Exp. at tier 5 when it had that insane 300 alpha gun and it went at 40 km/h. It was basically a faster T-150 with less armor, at tier 5.

One thing that set me off the japanese heavy line on the O-Ho and eventually WoT was the fact that no matter how hard your armor is, there's always some wallet warrior with a fully equipped vehicle spamming gold, completely negating your vehicle, specially if you're free to play, like i am.

I love the Japanese Heavies, I just miss old HE, made them more fun if they ended up as a low tier in higher tier battles.

Thing is, you can. Could be an interesting feature: Appliqué armor at the cost of massively increased extra weight. Think Maus: Extra turret armor, negating the turret weakspot even further with spaced armor, which will cause HEAT shells to be absorbed, and maybe extra LFP armor: But at the cost of the vehicle only going 10 kph at max anymore (without turbo). Remove LFP armor, only slap the turret armor on, it goes 15 kph at max again. So: Basically an even more invincible hulk from the front, but even more inflexible.
@@hunter_0221 That would be the point when actually goldammo could be named a fair thing since u would have something to do against it... Right until it wont be the case, its the same old 100% 1-sided help for paper, high RoF tanks which happened to be "balanced" with low pen...
I think WOT blitz does balance pretty well although it doesn't quite have realistic values but I think it's fine since the Maus and E100 on wot pc already have ridiculous frontal turret stat so that they can survive tier 10.
I love this tank, and have, I believe a 55% win rate. I found it is great a side scraping out and holding an ally in a town. Gold rounds are a pain but that is the same for any tank. It is one of my favourite T7 tanks.

That Vz. 44-1 is everything that's wrong with this game. Top tier tanks, especially heavies, camping at the back, refusing to play. Should be bannable offense if you ask me.
If the game rewarded people for being aggressive but instead get punished for even trying to involve. camping doesn't get you punished and instead you do dmg while your team loses
@@falcon6329 Exactly. You play the game, make a push and lead the assault so the matches progress and you're rewarded with nothing but death because WG keeps making corridor maps.

@@falcon6329 well, game actually rewards aggressive play, you get more damage and xp if you play front line
i love the type 5 heavy with the derp...in concept...it currently sucks wind however. The derp is total troll for damage and on the US server at least you get spammed and penned by gold constantly
Thankfully, I went up that line before they nerfed the derp gun. Those prem HE rounds were beasts.
These things hit me so funny because most of the time I farm them out but then you just have those odd moments where they shave off 1/3 of your HP (or more depending on tier) in a single shot

I think O-ni is the best Japanese heavy tank tier for tier, especially with this gun. And is one of the ones I really like playing, so thank you for featuring it here.

Completed HT-12 last night. Used the KV-1. It has good armor and not too much health, so you dont have to block too much, i believe around 800 base health
Recently got my type 4 Heavy. I am surprised by the amount of gold rounds people shoot and by the amount of players who think it's bad and toxic. I had a discussion with a player saying that there are no weak spots and that it's broken. I got my second mark on the tank by playing casually. I have 1800 recent win8 and I can still 2 mark tanks by playing for fun.
Well its either you are rich with full golds like the chieftain unicums so the tank just kinda suck or you are poor and the tank is just not fun to fight against (unless you are some high pen tanks), which is why at tier 10, where everyone usually has settled on using their tanks, is full of gold rounds or high pen gun (although some faster tank can pen you if they get to your side).

There should be a fog of war mechanic, where as you move forward, the Frontline advances, rewarding the players for pushing the Frontline forward.
Also, I must add that the O-I Exp is Tooooooons of fun to play!

The O-Ni was the Tank where i got my First gunmark, so it was very Special to me. I absolutly still love playing it and evendo i had the O-Ho already i still havent solled it, so it still Stands in my garage anthil today.
My favorite tanks is the kv3 and kv 4, all round good tanks.
I got rid of the Type 4 as soon as I got the Type 5 years ago. Still have most of the mid-tier and up machines but I expect to cannibalize their crews if the Japanese TDs show up this year.
Reminder the gun caliber on the O-NI is actually 149.1mm NOT 152mm
the type 5 was my first tier 10, I got it after the he nerfs and i still enjoy playing the tank, i was actually the #2 type 5 player for a bit

You could try the centurion 5/1 as well. the hull sucks but the turret is straight up insane. If you play hull down and use your gun depression, even tier 10s will bounce your turret, lots of times even gold😳 And there is only a small cupola that can get penned easily. It s hilarious to bounce so many shots and they just keep spamming gold🤣

I really do wish they would limit how many gold rounds you can bring into a battle. Especially when I'm seeing people who will bring a full loadout of gold ammunition.
I really do wish people would stop blaming their own inability to play a game for a game mechanic.
@@violetstetpedder-4824 my point is people rely on it too much. I haven't fired a single gold round in the past year and I still do decent. My main complaint is gold ammo makes almost all tech tree tanks completely useless especially at lower tiers.

I made it to tier 10 before they nerfed the HE. But even before that I found the Tier 6 with the smaller gun amazing. As my premium time expires, I'll probably be finding myself in that tank again.

Now how much of tier 5 games does ONi ever have? Or is it more against tier 8 and 9 where it gets melted down in a matter of seconds. Just with standard rounds.

A few weeks ago, ot having played my Japanese heavies in ages, I took my highly trained crew and retrained them for the medium line. It was a very sad moment, 😰
STB-1 is amazing tho. And Chi Ri is so fun.

I realised nowadays that armor is kinda worthless because everyone just uses gold rounds....
Also the nerfed HE shells so derps aren't even that appealing anymore
... I thought the O-Ni got a choice between a 100 mm and a 150 mm gun ....
Pretty much most time I my su152 facing the O-Ni I use gold round, and it just like a meat ball, easy kill.
I loved the O-Ho before the JP heavy tank nerfs back in 1.5 where it was nerfed from having 3.3k DPM (if you pen with the 15cm derp) to having 2.5k dpm (if you pen with the 15cm derp) those nerfs just killed the entire line, and has never since then been the same.
at the end, i noticed u didn't Repair fix yur tracks, could ve make difference.
Type 5 is powerful type 4 depends on the player and the opponent

Hi QB, I just sold the On-i but I don't know if it makes sense to buy the Oh-O. A lot of people advise me not to continue heavy Japanese after the On-I, do you really think it's a bad idea??
i would say keep going, but that's because that line has the playstyle that i like the most, and the O-ho isn't a bad tank if you know how to use it best

man i got a really good game in my O-Ni and wanted to share it as a replay, where do i go to share it? i think i did really well after i held an entire flank after my 2 teammates died(3k damage and 5 kills)

OMG, I have the type 5 Heavy reasearched, but haven't bothered to spend the credits to buy it yet. I just can't bring myself to buy it, just to suffer the gold round spam...
I had some of my best games with tier 6 O-i. I thought this line was amazing and went up to tier 7 and 8... What a disappointment.

The Japanese heavies are pretty much, in my opinion, mostly unplayable in today's toxic gold-spamming meta that has been encouraged by Wargaming. Back when they were first released they had a unique charm but now it's worn off and these tanks are instantly negated and pulverized just by pressing the 2 key. It's pretty sad, really.

Type 5 is really underrated. I played maybe 70 battles in it recently average of 3k+ damage and I’m a decent player. People just don’t aim for weak spot on it and bounce even heat because of some troll stuff. It’s def not really op or the best but it’s very fun to play
Now take E100 or 60tp, play those 70 games, I can bet you will have bigger average damage.

I still love the japanese heavies purely because of the aesthetic, but god damn the O-Ho is unbearable. I wish it at least had the Type 4's stock gun as an upgraded gun.
I bet WG will just introduce a Japanese tier 8 Premium and its the O-ho without the tumor and has the Type 4 turret and stock gun instead.
O-Ho is a nightmare =8-(
