this is called PRODUCTION. you are creating VALUE for the market
you and your team are much more valuable to society than lawyers and bankers. good to see how its done. thanks
Thanks
"When I get home, this doesn't make any sense to me" .......I'm glad I'm not the only one like that! great ideo Thx!
Same for me as an Interior Designer. Phones with cameras have helped tremendously!
😄 I know the feeling!
Thanks for watching!
Just thought you had cement dust in your veins.... You have sawdust in them too! 😁
What a nice setup in your shop with nice bench tools! Way to go! (From a remodeling contractors view)
Nice job on the tops, can't wait to see the next video.
The multi-skill level of all of you is awesome!! So nice in so many ways, just makes all of you more valuable to more people. 👍
Thanks 👍
Nice way to stay warm and still make some money, great video Tom
Thanks 👍
When I poured my basement walls, I lined the interior side of the forms with six mil. When I stripped the forms, the finish was shiny and smooth, except with a few wrinkles. Looks like marble.
Yes, same thing
Seems like just yesterday I mentioned that I'd like to see more of your interiors work like countertops. Tom Haus delivers!
More to come!
So cool how you and your crew build countertops Glad you all got some work you can do during the winter
Thanks 👍
I am so looking forward to seeing what you do next! I just know it's going to be awesome!
I hope so!
AMAZING WORK> Inspirational workmanship and focus.
You should call that troweled look "Elephant Skin".
Oh, a cliff hanger!!
I keep getting ads for Concrete Countertop Institute on YT which provides specialized training.
Awesome job love watching n learning so much info thanks a bunch
So nice of you
Nice touch with a neat technique for the surface finish !!
Thanks!
Great demonstration and explanation 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
I seen Steve’s video where he made some for a friend and they turned out beautiful. Can’t wait to see the finished product with your plastic technique! Awesome work! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
Coming soon!
Funny while watching the video I was going to ask how to prevent bonding with the piece of foam and then you're putting tape on the edge. Nice shop equipment. Ive been researching a slide table saw.
Nice
That's cool. You are very handy.lol can't wait to see the next step
Pro. Can't wait to see finished product.
Thanks
Amazing countertops Tom. That'll be a nice outdoor kitchen with the tops that you are making. Always enjoy
watching your videos.
Thanks 👍
Wow absolutely amazing,
Thank you very much!
Nicely done
Thanks!
After watching you make those. Think I’m going to try and make some for my kitchen. What size fiberglass rebar and spacing. Guess I need a quantity of sand cement and fiber too. Very nice job
Already know it's gunna look real nice !!
Just real nice ( kidding) thanks
I've never done a counter that way and the plastic is an awesome idea. Beautiful job guys and thanks for sharing methodology. I have passed around the information for both channels to anyone with a set of ears.
Thanks for helping us grow
@@Concretewiththehauses It's the least I can do. Thank you
Looking forward to the next video!
Coming soon!
@@Concretewiththehauses 👍
Good evening from Pleasant Hills, PA. I wish we had great concrete contractors in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Like you and your crew. Thanks for sharing your techniques.
Thanks, you too!
I’m sure they all turned out very nice. I watched you do it last year. You had to travel like 8 to 10 hours away to install and those turned out beautiful.
Yes! Thank you!
Super !!!!

Got a new subscriber here. Enjoy yall's videos. I'm not a concrete person but sure enjoy watching it done. Did y'all go to the WOC in Vegas this year?
I go every three years welcome board. Glad you found us.
You are the Master!!!!! Donna is a lucky Lady! Always dreamed of a Hubby that could / would do this type of projects.
Thanks.I keep telling her
Oh man Tom, I wanted to see what you do next. Guess I'll just have to tune in for the next episode. 😀 Just like I always do.
It's an absolute pleasure to watch people work together who know what to do next w/o needing direction (or VERY little). Well oiled machine.
Thanks
just wondering how much overhang on the counter with them round corners
12”
The template for the sink...did you allow for the thickness of the sink?
Yes undermount
Invonvative!!
Might want to make yourself a hot wire cutter for that kind of foam.
Why the inner perimeter of the sink and not the outer ?
will you grind it or is the sink very thin ?
Undermount
Have you guys considered doing concrete cutting, core drilling or wire sawing work? I'm assuming it comes with the territory.

Question about the strength: your mix is low water, 1 part Portland to 2.5 parts Sand with microfiber? That gets you to 10k psi? Is it a special cement or does the microfiber help that much?
Just Portland type 111
@@Concretewiththehauses thanks for the reply. Is the fiber included in your final estimated strength? Or 1 part type lll to 2.5 Sand gets you 10k psi?
Tom, did you use a release on the edge or does the silicone provide its own “release?”
Once in a while, I will use release
Do you vibrate the mix when you pour ?
No
Tom, with the countertops having broken stone face edges should I worry about them tearing or wearing out the fabric of my clothing? Standing and leaning against it while grilling, washing dishes, prepping food or sitting in a stool…
No mine are very smooth thanks
We call it rock faced.
This looks like fun. They must be a little bit heavy to handle.
Very part2 coming
@@Concretewiththehauses I'm looking forward to seeing it.
That makes a good job during the slow time in the winter and great learning experience to who want to attempt some like that
Got a question how do I measure how many bags of 80 pounds sacretemix do I need to do a footing outside wall 30 feet x25 feet 2feet wide inside the form and 4 inches thick since I don't know how to calculate it i look at it this way a bag of sacretemix is around 2 feet by 16 inches wide and around 3 and half thick came up with 84 bag so to make sure it enough I am going to buy 100 bags do you think it is about right have a great day every one
I believe one bag does 2 ft.² and 4 inches
And that is too much for bag concrete call your Readymix supplier give him the measurements and get a price on it
Fiberglass rebar? Did you install it? What was it?
You are the only one who noticed and commented. I mixed.up some videos. I will correct in part 2. Thanks
FIrst!! Love this channel btw. Great crew, great work
Thanks so much!
Good morning
Morning
Hope whoever poured your floor did it flat😂
edit: instant sub
Yes, we did
Another trick that might be a bit less involved than the pencil-tracing sink cutout is to "borrow" one of your wife's lipsticks - hopefully, one she won't make you sleep on the couch for doing so, ha-ha, and run it all along the edge of the cutout so that you have a decent amount of coverage. Then place the cardboard down on the sink being careful to not slide it around as you press down on it to make an outline for you to then cut out your template. Oh, and you might also want to then clean off the sink... unless you want to keep your clients guessing.
Nice one
Most sinks come with a countertop template in the box.
👏👍👌
No vibration, why not?
I will answer in upcoming video
If you had done that brick work I bet it would of been square
10,000 lb rating ? Thats strong ! Why the play sand ?
Nice color
👋🏻
😊👍🌎🌞
I've seen Steve use plastic
He pours his upside down, so the plastic is on the bottom. Mine are right side up plastic. It’s on top.
That is some house! Big dollar pool and patio and outdoor kitchen and ugly white outlets! Tom suggest to the homeowner or builder stainless outlets and covers!
🏴👍
WWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure why anyone would pour tops that way. I’ve done both and pouring in place is by far easier. No hauling heavy tops with risk of cracking. Sorry but the plastic marks don’t float my boat. Hopefully you’ll polish those out. Sorry to hate on your work
Talk to you after part 2
