You've been much more generous than game review sites which savaged it with headlines such as "boil it, mash it, stick it in the bin"
Lol! Now I wanna see said roasting! 😂 Still wanna play the game though
When I saw the the trailer, I figured it would be something in the vein of Styx: Master of Shadows/Shards of Darkness with a focus more on stealth/platforming than assassination gameplay-wise. Going by your early review, I wasn't very far off in my impression of the game.
I just look at this game’s graphics and I can tell that the PS2 is shaping up to be a really great console generation!
Here's my issue, who asked for this? Who sat there and said "I want a gollum game where we skulk around and don't fight anything." Just a bizarre choice
It is a strange choice, and one that I have long pondered. However, I can’t fault this game for not being something else at this point. I’ve come around to liking it for what it is!
@@MenoftheWest But the quality and Lore accuracy is on Rings of Power level. Also 70bucks? WTH
Daedelic is one of the few good German game developers. Sadly this kind of game isn't their niche. They specialize in hand drawn point and click adventures and you can see that they aren't used to develop 3d games. I can fully recommend you guys checking out their deponia games or harveys new eyes, if you like the old classics like monkey island.
I think if this game for gollum is to work artistically within the lore, it would need to encompass and portray hundreds of years of dark torment and dissociation with the common world and the challenges he faces in his later life by coming to realise his former spirit. It may play out in a much more relatable way for many, in the way we interact with our deeper selves.
Lets be honest, I dont think any of the devs would like you calling this a Platformer. I think they wanted to make a game, that has everything: story, combat, puzzles and platforming using this IP and one of its most popular characters in order to appeal to the broadest market possible. And they ended up half-baking everything and appealing to nobody! Now theyre trying to sell this conceptually bad game to LotR fans at the outragous price of $50
Or just make a game about the actual story… it’d get millions. But I guess this works too? Ffs. Smh🤦 It’s so very sad. Goes in the pile with ROP tbh even though it’s way ahead of ROP which in a way might not be amazing but my goodness it’d make a better movie than ROP…😂😢😅❤
$50
@@DanceySteveYNWA do english speaking people actually write it like that? Im not trying saying "the price of dollars 50". Seems kinda illogical to write it as "$50"
@@JSK_03 People who write fifty dollars as 50$ are people too lazy to go back and change it. The denomination always comes before the amount. (unless it's parts of a whole, like cents or pennies, then it comes afterwards, e.g. 50p, 76c etc)
@@DanceySteveYNWA thats an arbitrary American/British rule, and illogical in nearly every context
We are in a dark age of lotr games.
How did it come to this.😢
At least we have Lotro!
Theirs been like 1 or in the last few years. This isn't a dark time the ip just isn't as popular right now for people outside of Tolkien stuff
Where now the horse and the rider?
Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk,
And the bright hair flowing?
@@NastyCupid where was Gondor when the Westfold fell?
I think the only way they could make a game about gollum work is to heavily lean into the silliness of gollum and hope the game turns into a meme.
Disagree. There should be some comedy, but also wit and some level of threat.
Gollum is one of my favorite characters in middle earth. I would say this because of how long he has lived comparatively to his kind, this being a cause of the ring. That being said I have always yearned for more explanation of his life. Though they can’t be exact on every point in this game. It is a very exciting to watch anyone’s perspective on how these events played out! Very excited to try this game.
barad-dur looks like a 5g tower
Makes you think doesn’t it?
I bet the flight of Felbeasts leaves behind them chemtrails in the sky :-D😀
They’re trying to warn us
Got told its basically Stray but you're Gollum
I think that is quite accurate!
I really hope they just make another Battle for Middle Earth esq game. There was so much potential for expansion of things like building heroes and the War of the Ring mode.
RTS is pretty much a dead genre at this point, so the likelihood of anything like this happening is practically zero
@@InkyMuste Actually there’s quite a few new RTS games released recently,
There’s even a spiritual successor to Supreme Commander FA that looks promising.
Also for BFME the Age of the Ring mod just finished up but BFME 2 has a huge mod community. Not to mention old school games like Command and Conquer Generals with the shockwave mod.
An Age of Mythology sequel/remaster/thing is in the works.
And Empires Dawn of the Modern world is widely available now.
So for both old and new RTS games they’re far from a dead genre.
Speaking of which!
Men of the West if you’re seeing this why not do a video covering the Age of the Ring mod? Would be a great opportunity for a colab with RuudDevil.
@@InkyMuste People only think that because Bobby Nodick of Activision said so and put Starcraft 2 in maintenance mode. SC was the national sport of south korea, and games like They are Billions, and Diplomacy is not an option have been successes. Think about how many classic RTS games have been remastered in recent years. The market is there.
Thanks for your fast review and for highlighting some of the more negative aspects. I would get it anyway, but as you and others have mentioned, it is very demanding on the hardware and I'm very much afraid that my five year old PC couldn't handle it.
Rich and complex Lore additions like the 'Cruel Woman' and the 'Frail Man'.
The fact that games are more expensive now and unfinished but up for sale infuriates me.
And by the sounds of it the game design is basic and lazy.
Seems like a pass to me.
38 metacritic score says it all.
Im not really great with Stealth games so I was worried this one might be to stealth heavy but I might pick it up because it does look interesting.
I’m horrible at stealth too lol. Stick to the shadows, my friend! 😄
Morning buddy thanks for the heads up
I literally sighed in relief when you said that you were pleased with the lore so far. That’s what I want
Absolutely! There are some great references in here, and I can tell that the makers of the game did their research. Not everything is in the lore of course, but there are plenty of tie-ins!
@@MenoftheWest well then! Time for me to go on a very long holiday. I don’t expect I shall ever return
Watch SkillUp’s review prior to purchasing it. This guy CLEARLY let the free code impact his review. This game is DEFINITELY NOT a 7/10.
No hes a massive shill aswell
"But i won't let this affect my review of the game because the honesty of it all means much more to me"
uh oh
I mean, they sent it to me. Didn’t ask them for it, just wanted to review their game. Up to them whether or not they wanted to send it, up to me about how honest I want to be.
I dont know how this a 7/10. You say, this game doesnt focus on story, combat or puzzles, and its mainly a Platfomer. How can you charge 50 bucks for Platformer? This game is cashgrab utilizing the LotR IP, like so many before it!
Why can't one charge 50 bucks for a platformer on principle? If it's worth the price depends on how much playtime you get out of it and how fun it is, I'd say.
@@SNWWRNNG lets be honest, I dont think any of the devs would like to call this a Platformer. I think they wanted to make a game, that has everything: story, combat, puzzles and platforming using this IP and one of its most popular characters in order to appeal to the broadest market possible. And they ended up half-baking everything and appealing to nobody.
I understand the frustration, but to me, this is a different kind of entry in the Middle-earth game genre that may allow other people to enjoy Middle-earth without it being unkind to the lore or world that it’s in.
@@MenoftheWest its not like you cant make a game thats fun to play and respects Tolkiens world at the same, they just keep failing at it, because they focus on squeezing every last Penny out of this IP, instead of gameplay and/or story
“How can you charge 50 bucks for a platformer?” Nintendo’s been doing that for years
You are being really too nice to this game.. this game is pretty much as ridiculously lore breaking as Shadow of War or Rings of Power. I don't know how you can condone any bit of lore and mainly characterization of Gollum in this game despite being a Tolkien lore fanatic. Disappointing.
I am sorry but this comment is not accurate. The lore mentioned is extremely accurate generally speaking. Whether it is of the Witch-king and Eärnur, Bilbo and his adventures, Gandalf and Thranduil, etc., the game has been fairly accurate to the lore.
@@MenoftheWest I am sorry but I cannot believe that. Sure, some MENTIONED lore might be accurate but the whole premise of the game is against the lore. I'll explain why.
1] Gollum and Smeagol weren't a conflict during the time this takes place. Gollum had completely overwhelmed Smeagol. He was an evil monstrous being that the Mirkwood Elves described as he ate eggs from birds' nests, stole younglings and ate them, etc. So any idea that Gollum would hatch and raise a pet bird is ridiculous. He'd have eaten it on the spot. Gollum's Smeagol personality actually started showing only because of Frodo's compassion and the love that he showed to him (due to finding him relatable) which finally caused Smeagol to surface and start challenging Gollum. Frodo was the first person since Deagol actually who ever treated him as a friend. Before Frodo came along, Gollum was practically all evil and consumed by the Ring.
2] Not to mention this story takes place around the time Gollum was captured while trying to sneak around the fences of Mordor. He wasn't some random prisoner in Mordor like the Shawshank Redemption style portrayal thats shown in the game. He was practically tortured in the dungeons of Barad Dur the whole time.. not just for Bilbo's whereabouts but also as punishment for actually wearing Sauron's One Ring. And then he was only let go because Sauron thought to use him as bait. Otherwise he'd have forever stayed in eternal torment in Mordor. Then immediately after, he was captured by Aragorn and was then taken as prisoner to Thranduil where the elves actually do treat him better than he deserves.. so the game's angle of him being mistreated by everyone from Mordor to the "fair elves" is just pity partying him.
TLDR : The game might get some theoretical lore correct, but it gets the whole characterization and themes of characters and factions wrong.
@@arkenstar3979 I haven't played this game but I think he said that this is from Gollum's perspective. So he likely would think that everyone's mistreating him.
@@jimmyboy131That is a good point. Even in the books, Gandalf says that Gollum always felt mistreated. And some parts indeed would make sense based on perspective. But perspective based choices in rpgs cannot change the events in the story. Whether Gollum felt mistreated or not, he wouldn't have true friends or companions until Frodo. Whether he felt mistreated or not, he didn't have any freedom or leeway in Mordor.
@@arkenstar3979 But if you want to make an interesting game, sometimes you have to allow for some changes or alternate interpretations and just go with the vision the developers have. For some fans that's not at all acceptable. I get it.
I really hope that we will someday see a new AAA LOTR Game with the Gameplay of Shadow of Mordor or Shadow of War that respects the Lore, because damn in terms of gameplay these games where great.
I'm not a gamer, but I'll watch, like, comment for the Algorithmic Engagement 😉
I'm glad you enjoyed the game but I feel like you left out a lot of important context that should have been be put into the review (especially around how the game is monetized)
Who’s dream was it that they wanna play as Gollum in a video game?
It was Dobby's dream.
weird fetish from greedy Hollyweird guys.
I was at least expecting a Styx clone. But this is horrendous. Sindarin behind a paywall? Bad controls and story at full price? Ugh.
What if aragorn died at amon hen instead of boromir?
I find it a Story game and Puzzles. I think you did a good Review my friend! I so far At at chapter 5. I really am enjoying the Game. There are some bad things, Glitches, a Few Repetitive things. But, With a lot of the stuff I am enjoying it. I Guessed this game would be a lot like "Styx" Goblin game. I was spot on. So I was not really Upset or Overwhelmed by how good or bad this game would be. I found it just Enjoyable. I think the story telling is my favorite part and the Music is fine. I could not say the best because I don't remember it. But it Fit in the Moment of the Scenes well to give good feeling. I also, enjoyed the Visuals so far and Voice Actors. though some things... like the Orc helmets were silly haha. I am going to review it too and rate it when I am done. But at this time. I am around a 7.5/10 And I think that is pretty crazy because I would Really give it a hard time if I did not like it. also, the Save points in the game were really good! I thought. Great video Men of the West! I really think you have valid and good review here! Better then all the Poeple saying it was bad before you could even play it! hehe I jest. Great video though, Really! I also, REALLY Loved the LORE TOO!!!! I'm 100% with you! My Favorite Part too. ( I Also have about 7 hours of Gameplay if Anyone wants to see)
Thanks for the quick review! $50.00 does seem like quite a lot for a game which seems to offer very limited replay value. Otoh, $50 is what I paid for my very first game, Ultima Underworld 2, back in the day. Seemed like a lot then, but it did offer practically unlimited replay, at least for me. This isn't really my kind of game but I do find it oddly appealing. Guess I'll wait a bit on it and see what shakes out.
So I'm guessing the game takes place in 2941 to 3018 of the third age.
Looking at other reviews this looks like another rushed game from the technical perspective. Also anyone who wants to play this on PC should be warned that this is an Unreal Engine game and yet apparently it has no shader pre-compilation which is absurd for a single player game like this as any shader (including those that only appear once per playthrough) will cause a massive stutter when it first appears. Unfortunately this kind of unfinished game release has become expected though it is disappointing that it happens even to AA studios like Daedalic Entertainment. If Digital Foundry will cover this game then I expect them to rip it to shreds. In addition the "Precious Edition" looks like a cynical cash grab designed to extract money from lore fans.
I'm not considering buying it, but it was still interesting to hear your take.
Nothing against the game or the genre, but I'm just an old fart, and I think my newest console is a PS2. I play the classics occasionally, still have an old 8-bit NES
Hey thank you for the review, I follow your LoTR lore series and have always wanted to make a game set in Arda. I feel for this studio, because there is no doubt in my mind that the developers were fans of the books and wanted to do them justice. The game industry is messy at best, downright tyrannical at worst. I've always wanted to make a LOTR game, but man, it seems like such a challenge. Maybe one day we will have something that lives up to the source material.
"A few Negatives"
Bru this game is dogwater.
I thought this was one of the most creative Lotr game ideas in a long while and particularly with the artstyle and the decision to have the Mouth of Sauron as a central antagonist (apparently?). I might check it out after the price lowers a tad (as i'm extremely broke lol).
I appreciate your review and that we’re getting a Lord Of The Rings game, but unfortunately I’m not patient enough for stealth games. I even hate the stealth missions in Batman Arkham. I’m hoping the game is successful enough for us to get more Middle Earth games though.
Idk......free "gifts" normally equal "give it a good review".
Nah I haven’t much looked at them to be honest. I’m having fun with the game! About halfway through it. A couple fixes are needed, some bugs need ironing out.
I've read LOTR's 56 times and listened to the audio book once. I've listened to the BBC dramatisation a dozen times. Yet I've never played a single Middle Earth game even though I'm a gamer. Sadly, this doesn't grab me at all, but regardless, I hope it does well.
Return to Moria, however, has piqued my interest. Unfortunately, its projected release in 2nd Quarter of 2023 is looking shaky.
I will still watch your gameplay when you release it. 😊
If you can get ahold of them, I highly recommend the BFME games or LotRO.
There are some amazing audio books out there. I could name some if you’d like. Another great one is Christopher Lee reading Children Of Húrin aloud. Yes. Out loud. Most of what I thought was the whole book. It’s here on CZcams. Literally Saruman telling the story himself which is amazing.
@@Makkaru112 and he does the voices pretty well.
@Makkaru112 I have The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, The Fall of Gondolin, LOTR and The Hobbit on Audible already. I'll add the rest over the coming months.
They may as well have put out a "Farmer Maggot" / Farmville in the Shire game.
I'd be better than this by at least 100x.
I think this is something to be picked up on a sale in couple of months or a year even, it seems like a fairly average game.
Thanks
This game is hot garbage bro, worth nothing more but 5$
The last decent lotr game we ever gotten was the middle earth shadow games, which is sad. LOTR has so much lore and content the ideas for creation is endless
Totally agreed. Darkest always before the dawn. So let’s stay strong and stay creative. Someone will come up with something amazing soon
Do we get to explore Barad'dur? I've always wanted to see what it looked like inside.
A bit! There are quite a few times where we run around near the base and foundation of Barad-dûr.
@@MenoftheWest thanks. Still beyond bummed out we never got to attack it in SOW.
It all looks the Same. Don‘r expect a Game made with Love and people that would respect Tolkien.
Thanks for the review Yoystan :) def buying it.
I'm sorry for your loss
I love choose based games, and I LOVE Middle Earth, I hope it would be easier to get on PC with the size!!!
You're not fooling me, this game is gonna be absolute garbage. It is just a horrible idea/basis for a LOTR game
What a WEAK review, the game is not optimized, looks old, really bad mechanics. This is a $15 game.
A new one on me❗️
I really hate what Gollum looks like he looks so strange and I don't understand why they couldn't make him look like what he looked like in Shadow Of Mordor
I actually really love this game it's got some problems like the stamina bar in a 2023 platformer that isn't needed but everything else the story the gameplay it's actually a lot of fun
This is the first I'm hearing anything positive tbh.
God it looks so awful.
I go for story first, some fighting but for me the puzzles get old very fast.
7/10? Every other review that I have read/watched demonstrated rampant technical issues, gameplay that becomes rote within 30 minutes and horrible animations. Further, you have to pay an additional, premium price for emotes (in a single player game) and lore accurate Sindarin speech. Either you are extremely biased because of your love for anything LOTR or the goodies the dev sent you compromised your opinion. While I believe it is possible you just happened to enjoy the game for what it is, a 7 seems strange. It is your opinion, of course.
It definitely has some strange bugs and the like that need to be ironed out, but I’ve grown fond of this game! I wouldn’t bother with the DLC to be honest, and while the press kit id cool I haven’t looked at it much 😂
@@MenoftheWest Really though a 7/10, Over your review people might buy this game and it is a buggy mess, I think your being very Biased in your review Because your love for tolkien.
@@gavinrussell7827 While I think @menofthewest is far too kind to this game, he has never failed to criticize shows and video games affiliated with Tolkien's creations when he thinks it is warranted, including "Rings of Power" and the "Shadow of Mordor" games. He may think the commitment to the lore is more important than gameplay or mechanics--I raised my eyebrows when he gave the game such high marks despite calling it tedious--but he has never backed down in offering criticism to LOTR/Tolkien-related material when he thinks it's deserved. We all sit at different places and view things from different angles. One quick note. Video game reviewers seem to dislike this game far more than Tolkien content producers though Yoysten's is the only positive review I have seen.
I think a serious limitation of your review is the fact you only played 3 missions and not the whole game… would you review a car after driving 3 kilometers? Probably, would it reflect real life use? Nope.
I was curious about how they would make this kind of game work. Honestly, it just sounds a little too boring for me. Say what you want about how the shadows games handled lore, but at least they were fun
I have finally played The Lord of The Rings Gollum and it was very hard and difficult and as much as I enjoyed it there are a few things I do not understand why begin the game where Gollum in The Elf King Halls and then play as him when he is in Mordor why not begin the game in The Galdden Fields and show the Hobbit House where Gollum lived in and the Hobbit Village Smeagal lived in and see the life he had before he became Gollum I was hoping the game would begin like Life is Strange 2 did you could have had Smagal explore his Hobbit House as a kid in the winter and have him explore his Village as a teenager just like Bilbo would explore The Shire in The Hobbit if this game was about that instead and if you showed The Gladden Fields and The Hobbit Village in that region you could not just have Smeagal explore but also do some side quest why not show that ? and you could have not just showed Smeagal and Deagal fishing in the River before they found The Ring and have a fishing game to and choose to end it when you want to continue the story and show them finding The Ring and Smagal kinning Deagal in a cutescene and then show Smegal taking The Ring and like the actual game you could have the screan go black and the words on screan 2000 or 500 years later thne show him in his cave as Gollum saying my Precious and honetstly i was hoping you show Gollum drop the Ring and falls into his boat and gets tired and falls asleep and the boat slowly goes down stream in the caverns and he wakes up and notice the Ring gone and I was hoping you make some kind of Obsickle Course for him and then I was hoping you show Gollum meeting Bilbo in a cute scene not a Prolouge and you show exactly what Peter Jackson showed in the movie and what Tolkien wrote in the book the two of them having the game of Riddles but its from Gollum point of view this time not Bilbo and then show Bilbo putting The ring On and ditching Gollum and then make the screan go black and show the words 60 years later why not show that either? and why not show Gollum leaving his cave going through Mirkwood and exploring Lake Town? I would have loved to see that and even see Gollum swimg in the salke and climbling around Smaug Bones to. and why not show Aragron cathcing Gollum and giving him to The Wood Elves or show Legoles in the game either those two were boiund to show up in the game. and why not show this game more of open world like Gollum exploring the country side of Middle Earth just like Aloy explored The World in Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbiden West and Skyrim I would have loved to see Gollum make freinds and enemies withe Elves Dwarves and men on the road or talk to people on the farm from men woman and children and it would have been cool after Gollum escapes Mordor and goes up to Mirkwood and before he gets captured by Aragorn he is wondering around Mirkwood and The Black rider show up they have been sent to look for Gollum before they go to The Shire look for Frodo and you have to hide from The Black Riders in Mirk Wood like you would as Frodo In The Shire I would love to see that. and instead of ending the game in Moria I would have loved to see Gollum follow Frodo and Gandalf and Artagron and the rest of the fellowship through Moria and then follow them into Lorian Forest and spy on Frodo and Galaderial confersation then follow them down The Audain River then get seperated after The Urukai Attack and later when Gollum wondering around the woods he gets caught in a trap set up by Frodo and Sam and the game either ends when they show up or when Frodo ask Gollum to lead him and Sam to Mordor and that is where the game should have ended so if I may ask why not show any of that in the game?
Is it under licence from Embracer or Amazon? Whilst not entirely enamoured with Embracer's decisions, I'm not touching an Amazon product with a barge pole after the atrocity that is ROP.
lol guess im still the minority that really likes ROP.
@@TheJrockfreak after they are killing/destroying the ancient forest of the British king himself and after they killed the horse and burned the entire studio down and many other scandals o top of the destroyed lore I think your best think otherwise. There isn’t anything to like even just on the factual basis which the show falls apart during even the most neutral scrutiny. Mixes and matched timelines for one. Putting characters that weren’t even alive at the same time to even be in the same room together which even that is an issue. Miriel for example. Born 300-500 before or after a certain well known era. Never met Galadriel. Which by the way wasn’t her name yet. And also nobody would be talking to her the way they do. She’d not be kneeling to anyone. Can’t have two Durin’s at the same time. They pass the memories and soul of the previous Durin’s since the very first one called Durin The Deathless. Accumulating all the memories and skills build up over the ages!
Christopher Tolkien died early in the production of this show, and his "demand" was that Amazon could use the Appendices to make the show, but they couldn't change the lore. As soon as Christopher died, Amazon delayed the show for reshoots, fired Tom Shippey, and ghosted Peter Jackson. You can blame this garbage show on Simon Tolkien, its stink doesn't reach Christopher. Guyladriel never met
Miriel because, as an elf, she would have been sacrificed to Morgoth by the King's Men. The hobbits and Gandalf never met in the 2nd Age because Gandalf was in Valinor till the 3rd Age.
Miriel wasn’t even born yet. She was born 300 years after the rings of power era. Also elendil would never say forget the past and toss it aside. That’s the whole thing about the Faithful Númenoreans!!! Faithfulness to what’s good. To their elf friends. To the Valar, to Eru Îlluvatar. The way Galadriel acts like Fëanor when he isn’t seeing straight such as how she threatened bloodshed in the highest court of Númenor! The way she isn’t tall, the way she fights rookies doesn’t make her look strong. Should have had her spar with Elendil who was greater than Miriel in many ways even as far as lineage goes too! Have her spar with those greater Numenoreans and let the rookies laugh at their masters being vested by an elf woman holding back from actually hurting them! Now that’d be cool.
Need I also remind you they wanted Jackson on the team. He asked for scripts then they ghosted him. Then later when asked about it he basically told them good luck.
@@Makkaru112 I get all that but for what the series was I personally loved and found it enjoyable. I think I went into the series not expecting it to be a copy of the books i went into it seeing it as a fantasy series that takes place in the LOTR world and as that I thought it was good.
@@TheJrockfreak That's the problem ROP really isn't a faithful adaptation of Tolkien's lore world. You like the series and that's fine, but it really is more in the style of a fanfiction piece with some inspiration from Tolkien. The show runners clearly don't understand or care to understand Tolkien's vision. ROP is way off the mark with that. It really does not look or feel like Tolkien's Arda. But to each their own.
@@Alexs.2599 It is and I do get that most people wanted or expected a faithful adaptation. thats just not something i needed it to be.

The only positive is... nothing, I can't find anything positive, even fact that is placed inside Tolkien's world is negative... Don't want to associate this game with Arda
This game blows in every conceivable instance it’s indefensible, the creators are just bad at their job my god
Bought and sold as usual lol XD give this guy some merch and he will say it's at least 7/10 lol

Oh new video 😊hello 🎉
This is probably the worst game 9f the year
No, it doesn't have any positives at all. It's all negatives. I'm sorry, I'm just as big of a fan of the Legendarium as you are my friend, but there is positively nothing likable to this game any way shape or form, it's as loathsome as the title character.
I only watched 20 minutes of "Morbius"" but can confidently say its one of the better films in the hero genre.
Gollum 😍😍😍😍😍
I still don't forget how these shilled for RoP
How? I rejected everything Amazon offered me. I did not go to England, I did not go to the premiere. I ripped the show apart in a few reviews.
More like 7/20
7/10....wow
this game is very poor, it was like playing a PS2 game witht the poor graphics, I know you love LOTR but this is a crazy high score for a very poor game. Id give this a 3, maybe a strecth to a 4, terrible game
Absolutely first,lol.
Until you hit Plat in a game, you can't give a full valid rating imo, because usually, by only hitting Plat or 100%, you can say you've experienced everything the game has to offer
However, you can still give criticism, but hell, you didn't even finish it. So your rating doesn't mean anything. Unfortunately, I might skip this one due to the type of game it is. I prefer shadow of morder style, non action platformers aren't my thing.
This is one of the most dogshit takes I've ever seen in my life, especially considering how for most games the jump from finishing story/main game is so mind numbingly boring you will likely be turned off the game in question.
You can criticize Yoysten for not finishing it but games aren't the channel's forté and the point of getting the game early is to get some form of a review out on release.
Sounds to me like its yet another console port not even remotely optimized for PC. I will wait 6 months to try it.
