- DJ Netik, probably the best competition scratcher in the world in '02, crushes it at the ITF World Scratching Finals, Munich, where he finished runner-up to I.Emerge. Another one pieced together from Jimmy Smithson (first set) and Fabian Reimann (second set). The official VHS omitted the second sets from all 3 scratching finalists-in addition to omitting both of Richie Ruftone's sets entirely!

Maddest thing about this guy is he was a club dj from rural France, and only took up scratching as a USP to stand out from other contempories to get noticed and therefore booked for the club scene he wanted to play on!.

Ummm..yea. I bit some of it to win a 1200 and some m44-7s at a local battle. Lol. Judges went bananas. Felt guilty a tad. Big ups to Netik.

But for some reason, Qbert was always my favorite. Probably a bias considering Qbert was one of the first albums I ever heard. Hes what got me into the scene.

@@MichaelShum my bad, it was a long time ago & Merge was coming up under the 5th platoon. 2004 & 2005 world champ. My favourite DJ next to M.M.Mike & DJ Noize. I should of known that. I'm from Scotland so it's not so easy to get battle DVD's and doubles of custom made, skinless vinyl. Had to order stuff from the U.S. sometimes the records rould warp a bit in transport. Still got my 2 copies of AUDIOCIDE12. Respect, stay safe, crazy times right now. 🤔

It's not custom vinyl. Maybe ask JP Sgalia who posted a tribute to that routine above, he's using the same vinyl so it must be a battle record that was on general release.

Nah, all of these records were relatively accessible for most and that is one of the reasons it is so dope, nearly all djs had scratched that rob base sample 'I wanna rock right now' and the beat he does it over was very popular but no one had or has ever come close to killing it the way netik does here, beautiful routine.
