Old Town Astrological clock is the oldes in Europe. In the past each europian city had one but this one is the only one remaining from those times, that´s why it is so unique. Maybe there is too much hype about it, but knowing its background certainly helps to appreciate it :)
Honestly. I have been to Prague. This city is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
So true 😍
sure is! Loved it there!❤️
I know this vlog is pretty old but I’ve been binge watching you guys recently ahaha, you guys are awesome! I’m heading to Czech, Austria and Hungary in December and this makes me so excited 😍😍 hope you hit 100k soon!!
At 14:08, that "funky building" is called Fred and Ginger after the movie dancing couple of the 1930s, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
Im happy you had a great time in Prague! I wish i could guide you through! There is much more beautiful towns and cities in Czech Republic. I wish i could live in my home country I’m missing it so so much! 😭 Unfortunately my partner is British and i find UK very dirty country even though its not the worst. I have to say Czech ppl often don’t realise how beautiful our country is until they try to live somewhere else or at least that was my case.
You guys are so positive and uplifting to watch. Look forward to your posts. Thanks
Great vlog, it’s funny to watch you guys in my city while I live in one of yours now :-)
The astronomical clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still operating that’s why such a crowd waiting for it ;-))
It's so funny watching you talk about the czech money :D (it's czech crown actually) I really liked this vlog, hope you had a great time in Prague :))
P.S.: Prague is actually quite expensive for the Czech, other cities are much cheaper :)
Exactly, and it is also very funny when you try reading czech words with english pronunciation :D
džiraskjuv moust :-D
Hey guys, I am from Czech republic. I like how you try to pronounce czech words. I don't blame you. Czech is difficult sometimes for us Czechs too.
Quick thoughts from someone who lived in Praha for nearly a year: 1) Go to banks to get Czech currency (Ceska Koruna, or Czech Crowns) as you get exactly the amount you want and the fees are minimal. ATM's usually charge higher fees (either there or by your bank back home for using a foreign ATM). Any shop that says "Change" or "Smenarna" should be avoided at all cost (literally) as they charge the highest exchange fees. 2) Even though food is generally inexpensive, many restaurants will charge you for each piece of bread you eat from the bread bowl (yes, they count before and after). Also, drinks can often cost 50% as much as the entree, so bring your own drink to save or skip the drink until after, as it's much cheaper at Albert or some other grocery store. 3) Detsky Ostrov means "Childrens' Island". 4) The Astrological Clock is historic, but also pretty lame. For some reason, it draws massive crowds. Just look at it if you're there, but it's not worth waiting around for the "show".
this is so fun too see! I went to Prague when I was like 8 or 9, and this vlog really brings some memories back! So fun! xx
It's cool watching your first videos. It's a beautiful country, and when you leave the city, and go to surrounding cities we had a feast for 4 people for $3.50 in 2004. I wonder how more expensive it got. I hope to come back there one day and explore more. Beautiful country.
As soon as I saw that shot of the bridge before you had lunch I recognized that from Mission Impossible, very cool!
It's so autumnal!!!!
- The domed ceiling was not of cave, but of a stone brick cellar. Possibly old wine cellar.
- Better view on Prague is from Petřín watchtower (wich is a smaller coppy of Eifell tower, but build on top of a hill, therefore in higher possition and wider view.)
- Food in the center is generaly pricier, than in the rest of the city. 4USD soup is an outrage. Good price is 1 USD, usual price is about 2 USD.
I’m dead serious my parents own the hostel it is a cellar your right, look it up it’s called Czech Inn
The view from your hotel is so beautiful!
True 😍
Hope you enjoyed your stay in the "Extra Special Grand Royal Suite"! 😄 (16:25)
Money goes far, right :) The name of US currency comes from CZ (Bohemia). In middle ages we used currency called Tolar and the Dutch traders brought the name to America with a slight change in pronounciation. Now we use Crowns and US people use Dollars :) Funny.
Love this so positive, my favourite city, mc,!
Hey! 145 people is mad!! I've just looked and your off to Brussels which is such a coincidence! I'm off in February, and recommendations will be greatly appreciated!! have a fantastic time! 😄
A DOLLAR TWENTY for a Red Bull is considered cheap? I'm from one of the most expensive countries in the world and Red Bull is a slightly more expensive there.
Cool vdw beautiful city indeed prague i like the word autumnal
Btw that “funky house” is called Dancing House or Fred and Ginger but because those two were i think American dancers and i do not think Czech ppl like it we call it just Dancing House (Tančící dům) xD We are kind of patriotic country. So architects didn’t use Fred and Ginger as the only given name of the building. My History of Art teacher likes this building very much and so do I. 😊
I remember reading a poll where people considered the clock one of the most disappointing tourist attractions in the world, haha! Now I really regret that I didn't go up in the tower, what a gorgeous view!
I don't know why people find the clock disappointing. I found it delightful. But then, I knew what to expect.
Btw, the view from Prague Castle is better than the view from the Tower.
it is one of the oldest clock of this type. It is a piece of art and history not disneyland with fireworks.
Reportedly the oldest still working. It shows quite a lot, but it’s hard to decipher without description.
In Middle Ages, it had to be crafted all mechanical what today would be done using a computer.
At 10:21, you were eating with the green water devil (Vodník) near the water wheel.. ;)
Hey FAIRY TALE KINGDOMS nice vlog
You should go on Charles Bridge Tower. More beautifuler than old Town Square Tower. Or Powder Gate, I love Powder Gate! x)
Yes the Old Town Bridge Tower is super for near sunset/sunset views of the bridge, castle and Little Quarter.
OMG that is SOOO cool!!!!!
Lovely city
Beautiful! ^-^
0:29 - A cellar built traditionally with stone arches is not a cave, lady... :)

The Charles Bridge is the most beautiful Bridge and very historical. These Australians don't talk about the history at all.Talk too much but no real feel for this most beautiful city.

You know that Czech republic is NOT a kingdom but a republic, right?
They're young and superficial. What do you expect?
Yeah, but let's be honest, fairytale kingdom sounds better than a fairytale republic...I think it's just for the title, a simple collocation.
@@adris432 But they've seen only Prague and not the hole country. Prague is so much different then the other towns and the rural country.
@@janvozniak1235 Yes, I know the've only seen Prague...and Prague does look fairytale-like, hence the title. I don't understand how it's related to rural parts of the country looking different... Unless you mean they should have named it Fairytale City because the've only been to one city. I just thought (and they maybe also did) that Fairytale Kingdom sounds nice.
You know that Lands of Bohemian Crown still exists? And most buildings tourist are amazed from are from times when Bohemian kingdom was present
Clueless
Hey! 145 people is mad!! I've just looked and your off to Brussels which is such a coincidence! I'm off in February, and recommendations will be greatly appreciated!! have a fantastic time! 😄
