Maria's serve pre-surgery was just perfection, it's such a shame she was forced to change her technique after 2009😭 Kudos to her for winning 2 more grandslams amidst ongoing injuries though!

Very high quality from both, but Sharapova was just relentless. For those who try to portray her as one dimensional should watch this and also 2008 Australia open. She's very underrated. In my opinion she's the 4th best player of the 2000s after Serena, Venus and Henin.
The drugs probably helped her relentlessness too tbf

Even with the drug scandal Maria's mental discipline was exceptional from 2006 onwards you never saw her lose composure for the rest of her career, very seles like & impossible to teach,her mentality was her greatest strength, incredible to watch!
